Then the king of Babylon struck them and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive from its own land. Jeremiah 52:27
Warnings can be seen all over the place for many different reasons. They are placed to protect a person from something that could do harm if not heeded. Since there are so many warnings everywhere, many people tend to ignore them. Some have a very slight chance of doing any real harm, while others are pretty closed to guarantee harm if ignored.
Jeremiah writes how the king of Baylon, Nebuchadnezzar, struck the captain of the guard of Jerusalem and carried off the people of Judah into captivity.
Although many warnings tend to be real and do cause harm if ignored, there have also been many in which nothing really happened. When it was 1999 and the year 2000 was coming up there were many warnings being sent out. Fear was rising that everything would collapse, and chaos would occur. The year 2000 came and nothing occurred, life went on as normal. As a result of false warnings many ignore warnings.
God had warned Israel of their sins and coming judgement into captivity. People ignored His warnings until the prophecy actually came true.
The same is today. God is warning against living in sin and rejecting Him and the Holy Spirit. For nearly 2,000 years it has been prophesied that judgement would come, and the earth would be destroyed. Many have chosen to ignore those warnings because it has been so long since the original prophecy was made. Surely it will not come.
Going back through the Old Testament one can see how God fulfilled many prophecies. He is faithful and will not fail His word. One must believe His word and live for Him. Ignoring will only bring eternal judgement in hell.
There are warnings that you heed and obey, while there are probably some in which you ignore. Warnings that mankind gives may or may not come true, but the warnings of God will come true.
God is not quick to judge and destroy. He is quick to give you a chance to follow Him, but He will still give warnings. Do not ignore His warnings in your life. Heed His warnings and obey Him. Receive the eternal life He has for you.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you hear and understand the warnings of God in your life; that you will believe and obey all the warnings of God; and that you will know God will fulfill all of His prophecies made by the prophets.
