You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
Fear is something that runs rampant among people all over the world. There is fear of the economy, fear of sickness, fear of violence, fear of war, fear of death and fear of nearly everything else. People desire to have peace but are often unable to find it thinking that it will be found in things or lack of trouble. As people search for peace, it seems that things only appear to get much worse and more difficult.
Isaiah says that God will keep the person who keep the mind on Him in perfect peace, because that person trusts in Him.
Nearly every person desires to have a life that is free from all troubles or problems. If there is any trouble, then a person loses the feeling of peace and fear takes its place. Trouble causes a feeling of a lack of control in what is unknown. The world does not have peace, because the world lacks a solid foundation on which to build one’s life upon.
Believers can find a perfect peace when they put their mind upon God and His ways and trust in Him alone. in order to have a mind that is focused upon God, one must be willing to pray continually, read, study and memorize God’s word, and meditate upon God’s ways. Doing these things will allow God to bring about perfect peace to the believer.
This perfect peace comes from the trust that arrives in truly knowing God and trusting Him. It is understanding that no matter what is occurring in and around the life of a believer, God is in control and will allow only what is best to occur. It gives the believer hope that there is coming a better life after death in this world.
If your life is like the average person, it is filled with difficulties and troubles. There is also chaos occurring all around you, with many living in fear. Do not focus on the troubles of this world but put your focus upon God. Set your mind on God and His things and allow Him to fill your heart with His perfect peace. Trust in the Lord your God and your heart will be at perfect peace, even in the midst of a storm of troubles.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will focus your mind on God and His word; that you will trust God with all of your life; that you will know the perfect peace of God in your life.
