Isaiah 25:9 Wait And Be Glad

And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:9

Waiting is something that is difficult for most people. Everyone wants what they want right now as quickly as possible, and even then, it is often not fast enough. This becomes even more true when one is going through a difficult time and is waiting for things to get better.

Isaiah, looking to a future time, says that they will claim God as their God and that because they waited for Him, He will save them, and they will be glad in His salvation.

From the moment a person is born having to wait begins in one’s life. People have to wait to be fed as a child, wait to get out of school, wait to get married, wait to have a child, wait for the child to grow up, wait for retirement to occur, and much more waiting. Along with all that waiting, there is waiting for healing to occur and waiting to get through hard times to better times.

In all of this, believers have to wait on God to answer prayers and needs and move in their lives. God works on a timetable that is not the same as a person’s, He does His work in the perfect time and in the perfect way.

As the believer waits for God to move, one can rejoice, knowing it will be perfect. In the end, the believer can be glad and rejoice when God does come through in the perfect way. His salvation will be complete, both for the soul and through difficult situations in this life.

Just as you have to wait for things in your day-to-day life, you will have to wait for God to answer your prayers. Do not give up on God or get angry with God when He does not save you in a situation as quickly as you desire. Trust His ways and timing. Just as your soul will not see salvation in heaven until you die, salvation in a situation will not occur until it is the right time.

Be glad and rejoice in His salvation, in His ways and in His timing while you wait.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will wait patiently for God to answer your prayers; that you will see God’s answer in your life; that you will be glad and rejoice in His answers to you; and that God will be your God.
