Proverbs 15:29 God Hears Prayers

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29

As children grow up and move away, parents, especially mothers, desire that their children stay in contact. Once they move away it is more difficult to talk to each other, unless one is on a phone or the internet. Those make it possible to be heard regardless of how far away one might be in the world. Without the phone or internet, one cannot be heard once they get more than a few hundred feet away from another person.

Solomon points out that God is far away from those who are wicked, but at the same time can hear the prayer of those who are righteous.

The majority of God does not even believe in God in any way. As a result, they live in wickedness and sin following their own desires and ways of living. While they are living this way, God is far from them. He is knocking on their door to draw them to Him but remains far from the sin and wickedness.

At the same time God is far from those who are wicked and reject Him, He is near and hears the prayers of the righteous.

No one is righteous in their own abilities. Everyone is sinful and wicked when left on their own. Through the belief in the work of Jesus upon the cross and raising from the dead, one is made righteous before God. Jesus removes all sin and guides the new believer in His ways. The holy righteousness of Jesus is imparted upon the believer.

God is now near and hears the prayers of the now righteous and holy believer. He is willing to hear the prayers of the one who is striving to do what is right through the power and strength of Jesus.

There may be times when you pray that you feel as though God is a million miles away and cannot hear you. Trust in the work of Jesus in your life that He removed all sin and made you righteous and holy before God. Keep turned away from all sin and wickedness that this world offers. Then trust that God hears your prayers. He is right there to hear your prayers and guide you in continuing to walk in the righteousness and holiness Jesus has given you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the presence of God in your life; that you will live in the righteousness Jesus gives you; that you will know God hears your prayers; and that you will see God answer your prayers.
