With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding. Job 12:13
Most people struggle to understand how to deal with many different situations in their life and someone comes along with good wisdom on dealing with it. People then are often amazed at and look up to the person who showed good wisdom.
Often with good wisdom, comes good strength. People will show strength in character, attitude and perseverance in dealing with a situation under wisdom. During difficult times most people will seek out the wisdom of someone else in dealing with those times.
Job tells his friends that with God are wisdom and strength and that God has counsel and understanding.
Wisdom that people portray is only partial. No one can totally see everything in every situation to make the absolute perfect choice in dealing with it. In the moment or the temporary time frame, the wisdom of man does appear to be good, and people seek it.
However, that wisdom will often fall short and fail over a longer period of time. It does not have the strength of moral character that is perfect and holy, never doing anything wrong.
Instead of seeking the wisdom of other people, believers need to go to God first. He has been there since the beginning and sees everything and knows everything from every angle. The wisdom of God is powerful and will never fail or weaken.
God is willing to share His wisdom with any who call upon Him and trust Him. During times that a believer is going through difficulty, God can reveal how to make it through that difficult time and how to grow from it and use it for His glory and honor. His counsel is perfect and eternal with full understanding that man can never achieve.
You will have times of difficulties in which you may not understand why or how to deal with those times. Before running to other people to seek their wisdom and counsel, go to God.
Open your heart and mind up to what God has to say about the situation. Know that God’s counsel will be given with perfect wisdom and that He can give you strength to endure through any difficulty. The wisdom of God will work to perfect you into the image of Christ and provide the needed strength to overcome the world.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God’s wisdom first; that you will draw strength of character from God; that you will obey God’s directions in your life; and that God will give you understanding of situations in your life.
