Job 5:8 Seek God With Problems

But as for me, I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause–Job 5:8

During times of trouble and problems, people seek out advice and recompense for what went wrong. They will seek it from others, friends, family and co-workers. Some will even attempt to get judges to rule that recompense must occur. A few will take the matter into their own hands to force repayment. They will submit their evidence as to what was done wrong to them, expecting that someone will make the necessary changes and reward them for all the damage.

Eliphaz responds to Job and blames Job for his problems. He says that he would seek God and commit his cause to God then he falsely accuses Job of doing wrong.

Every person has times of great trouble and difficult problems. It appears as if the entire world is against the person, including God. Everything that could go wrong, does go wrong.

During these times people seek reasons as to why things are the way that they are. Blame is wanted to be placed on someone or something. Full truth is rarely sought out, just so that blame can be quickly placed, and relief brought.

Although fully knowing why one is going through a difficult time may never be made fully known, every believer should first seek God and commit one’s life to the Lord, including the tragedies in life. Finding out what God has to say about the situation and how to deal with it should be at the top of the priority list.

In that, however, one must trust what God says or does not say. He may reveal the purpose, or He may remain silent. It may be for correction, or it may be for a proving of faith in Him, but it all belongs to God.

During times of great trouble, you may want to find a reason for it, to blame someone or something for those times. First stop and seek God’s direction in the situation. Commit your life to God, troubles and all, knowing that He knows what is best for your life and is in complete control of every situation.

It may be a time of correction from God, but it may also be a time of proving to the world that you are a true believer that you claim to be. Give it all to God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God’s direction in every difficulty in your life; that you will trust God knows what He is allowing in your life; and that you will not blame God for problems but give Him praise for being with you through the problems.
