Then Queen Esther answered and said, “If I have found favor in your sight, O King, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.” Esther 7:3
Everyone loves life and freedom. No one desires to be held captive or have their life in danger of being killed. Nor does anyone like their fellow citizens with them to have their life threatened in any way. When lives are being threatened, there are some people who will stand up and plead for their lives and the lives of others.
Esther asks the king to spare her life and the lives of her people, because Haman was threatening to exterminate them.
In every nation around there are always some people whose lives are physically threatened. Some are on a daily basis. Some are also threatened directly because of their belief in God. However, many never have their lives physically threatened by anyone.
Yet, even without a direct physical threat the majority of people have their lives being threatened with death every day. All around the world sin is being promoted as good, encouraging people to participate in sinful activities as though those activities are good for them.
Although most of these activities do not actually kill anyone immediately, every one of these activities kill the soul of a person and continue to push them towards eternal death. Anyone who stands up for Godly principles of living is considered one who hates others and does not want to live life.
Believers are to stand up for God’s ways of living. They need to plead before God for their own lives and the lives of others. God is willing to forgive and give life to those who repent and believe in Jesus for their salvation.
Satan and the world are out to steal, kill and destroy your life in any way that they can. Your life and the lives of those around you are being threatened by the world.
Run to God and plead with Him for your life. Seek His strength and protection to overcome sin and the temptations to sin against Him. Seek that same protection for all those whom you know.
Hold on to the salvation that Jesus provides for you. Know that God is for you and not against you when you seek Him with all of your heart. He will hear your cry for help.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to the things threatening your life; that God will help you see how the lives of others are being threatened; that you will seek God’s protection and salvation for you and others; and that you will see God’s hand of favor upon your life.
