1 Samuel 23:27-28 Strange Ways To Protect

a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.” Then Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why they call this place Sela Hammahlekoth. 1 Samuel 23:27-28

Situations often arise in which there appears to be no way out, that look hopeless. People will often give up in despair not having any hope of rescue from a bad situation in their life.

When things do suddenly turn in their favor, many will say it was luck or karma, rather than God’s hand changing the situation.

As David was fleeing from Saul and getting trapped with very little hope, the Philistines began to raid the land. Saul stopped chasing after David to deal with the Philistines.

As the world looks to luck or personal skill to get themselves out of bad situations, believers are to look towards God. The enemy will seek to hunt down and destroy believers. In some nations it will be to physically kill them as Saul was doing with David. In other nations, such as America, it will be to destroy their character or witness.

There are times when the enemy is closing in that it appears to be hopeless and impossible to stop. However, God is the God of impossibilities. He can raise up a situation in the life of the enemy to get him to turn a different direction. It will often arise up from out of nowhere, unexpected.

Instead of fearing capture and death from the enemy, believers are to put their trust in God. At the right moment and in the right way God can protect the believer from an attack. This is often done behind the scenes with God working in the hearts and minds of the enemy.

The world is out to destroy you. At times it may appear that the world is closing in on you with no hope of survival, allowing fear to begin to set in. Do not allow fear to rise but put your trust in God.

As you put your trust in God, you will see God turn the tide of the enemy away from you. Suddenly the enemy may turn from you, not from luck or karma, but by the powerful hand of God.

God has a plan for your life and the enemy cannot stop it or change it.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God with your life; that God will remove fear of the enemy; that God will turn the attacks of the enemy from you; and that you will see God’s hand of protection upon your life.
