1 Samuel 23:27-28 Strange Ways To Protect

a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.” Then Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why they call this place Sela Hammahlekoth. 1 Samuel 23:27-28

Situations often arise in which there appears to be no way out, that look hopeless. People will often give up in despair not having any hope of rescue from a bad situation in their life.

When things do suddenly turn in their favor, many will say it was luck or karma, rather than God’s hand changing the situation.

As David was fleeing from Saul and getting trapped with very little hope, the Philistines began to raid the land. Saul stopped chasing after David to deal with the Philistines.

As the world looks to luck or personal skill to get themselves out of bad situations, believers are to look towards God. The enemy will seek to hunt down and destroy believers. In some nations it will be to physically kill them as Saul was doing with David. In other nations, such as America, it will be to destroy their character or witness.

There are times when the enemy is closing in that it appears to be hopeless and impossible to stop. However, God is the God of impossibilities. He can raise up a situation in the life of the enemy to get him to turn a different direction. It will often arise up from out of nowhere, unexpected.

Instead of fearing capture and death from the enemy, believers are to put their trust in God. At the right moment and in the right way God can protect the believer from an attack. This is often done behind the scenes with God working in the hearts and minds of the enemy.

The world is out to destroy you. At times it may appear that the world is closing in on you with no hope of survival, allowing fear to begin to set in. Do not allow fear to rise but put your trust in God.

As you put your trust in God, you will see God turn the tide of the enemy away from you. Suddenly the enemy may turn from you, not from luck or karma, but by the powerful hand of God.

God has a plan for your life and the enemy cannot stop it or change it.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God with your life; that God will remove fear of the enemy; that God will turn the attacks of the enemy from you; and that you will see God’s hand of protection upon your life.

Deuteronomy 33:27 God Carries You

The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ Deuteronomy 33:27

Young children often like to be in the arms of their parents when things are not going very well. It is in the arms of the parents where they feel secure and safe.

Adults also like to feel secure and safe. Instead of climbing into someone’s arms, adults turn to other things to grab on to the security and safety. Holding onto things is their hope that disaster will be kept away.

Moses reminds the people that God is their refuge, that they are in His arms and that He will drive out their enemies from before them.

The world claims that the best way to have security is in the things of this world. People seek greater finances, more things, better things, better positions and more, hoping for better security. While all of these things may give some form of security, they are all temporary and will fade away. Many of these things can also be taken away by someone else.

Standing on and believing in God is the only eternal security a person can possibly have. God is the only One that is greater than any enemy a person may have.

Believers today do not have to physically go in and take a land or physically destroy an enemy, but they do have enemies and need to take back people and lives that Satan has stolen. Battles against temptation and sin will arise daily in the life of the believer and he needs God to go before him to destroy those enemies.

God will hold the believer in His everlasting arms of peace, comfort and protection. The body may be destroyed, but the soul will be saved for eternity. This is the refuge the believer has.

At a minimum you will have spiritual enemies that are out to destroy your soul and get you to sin against God. The world does not want to see you succeed.

Know, believe and trust that God has you in His arms, protecting you and keeping you safe from all eternal harm. As you trust in God, He will destroy your enemies from before you. He will give you strength to overcome the attacks of the enemy upon your soul.

You can rest assured that God has you in His arms safe and secure.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God has you in His arms; that you will trust the security of God for your life; that God will remove the enemies from before you; and that God will give you victory over the temptations that come your way.

Genesis 28:15 God Will Be With You

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. Genesis 28:15

When a person starts a new journey, he will often have someone by his side at the beginning. The friend will often remain there until there is trouble in the journey or if the journey gets to be too long.

Very few people like to stay on a journey that is difficult and filled with challenges. They choose to go back to what is comfortable, breaking their promise to stay through to the end.

Jacob, while on a journey back to his homeland, had a vision from God. God told him that He would be with him and watch over him to bring him back, and that He would not leave until He fulfilled His promises.

Although most people who become believers do not have to go on the same type of journey as Jacob, all are on a journey through this life. This journey is one that ends in heaven in eternity.

At the moment one becomes a believer and begins his new journey, God promises to be with him, watch over him and bring him through to the end fulfilling all of His promises.

Having God at one’s side on this journey is very important because the world will be against this journey. There will be trouble and attacks of the enemy. Many will try to get the believer off the path. He will need to seek God’s strength, direction and provision for the journey in order to make it all the way.

Every believer will have the hope that God is with him until every promise is fulfilled at the end of the journey.

Going through this life, you are on a journey. You are either on a journey to hell or to heaven. Both journeys will be filled with trouble and enemies striving to destroy you. Some will try to stop you from following God to destroy your soul.

Choose to follow the journey God has for you. Keep your focus upon God and hold onto His promises that He has made. God will never leave you and will bring you through the worst that the world can throw at you. He will bring you into heaven for eternity some day as promised.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will walk the journey with God at your side; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will see God’s provision and protection for your life; and that you will complete the journey with God.

Genesis 15:1 Your Shield And Reward

After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” Genesis 15:1

People are constantly looking for protection and rewards. Out of fear many will purchase guns and security systems to protect themselves and their homes. Then, in order to pay for everything and be able to have their own desires, they will purchase lottery tickets to attempt to get a great reward.

Despite all the protection, very few feel very safe and no matter how much money they have, it is never enough.

Right after saving Lot from some enemies, God comes to Abram and tells him not to be afraid. God would be his shield and reward.

Fear is one thing that is very rampant among people all over the world. Many fear a lot of the same things, while at the same time fearing very different things. Most of the fear is from the unknown that is ahead of them.

Since people fear so much, they want to have more reward to be able to combat or coverup their fears. If enough money is made, they can party, causing them to forget the fears. They can also purchase what is believed to be good protection against the enemy or what can go wrong.

While a lot of this works in the short term, it is only temporary and will eventually fail.

The believer is to not be afraid, because He is trusting in God, who is in control and is eternal. God will never allow anything to harm a person in a way that will damage him eternally, unless the person stops trusting God and turns to the world. As the believer trusts in God, he will inherit eternal life, a greater reward than ever be earned or given on this earth.

Let go of your fears of the unknown that may be in front of you. Put all of your focus upon trusting God with your whole life.

God is there for you, loves you and will protect you from any eternal harm. You may physically hurt in this life, but in the end, you will have a perfect body and live for eternity with no pain or harm as you trust Jesus for your salvation, protection and reward.

What greater reward and protection can you get than this?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will choose to not be afraid, but to trust God; that you will know the reward you have in Jesus; and that you will know God will protect you from any eternal harm.
