Deuteronomy 8:2 God Tests You To Know Your Heart

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

Starting as a young child every person must take tests throughout their life. Tests attempt to reveal what a person knows or is able to accomplish. These tests can reveal mental knowledge, physical abilities, and character traits.

Although tests can be difficult and are often hated, they can reveal where a person needs to change or grow.

Moses reminded the people of how God tested them in the wilderness to know whether they would keep His commands or not.

Going through a difficult time of testing is very seldom the desire of anyone. It can be very scary and painful. Choosing the right answers can sometimes be mind-boggling or confusing.

Throughout the scriptures God teaches those who choose to believe in Him how He desires them to live their life to the fullest. Life lived this way is one of faith and trust in God alone. It is knowing that He knows the best way to live.

A person can easily say that he believes in Jesus, but it is much more difficult to obey His commands. The commands of God will often go against the ways of this fallen world.

God will purposefully place difficulties in the path of a believer to test him. He wants to see whether the believer will seek Him, obey Him and trust His word and guidance. These difficulties are not always meant to punish and never to destroy, but to build up, to reveal weak areas to be worked upon.

Testing will come to reveal what is really in the heart of a person.

From the moment you chose to believe in Jesus, God has revealed to you how He wants you to live your life. The basics of it is to love Him with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

Now that you know how you are to live, God will test you to find out if you have learned to live that way. Difficulties and testings will come into your life on a regular basis to see if you will continue to obey Him or if you will follow the ways of the world.

Make the choice to pass these tests perfectly.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God requires of you; that you will choose to always obey all of God’s commands; and that you will trust God in times of testings and difficulties.
