Genesis 16:13 The God Who Sees

She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” Genesis 16:13

Although some people would like to be invisible and not seen by anyone, most people want to be seen and recognized. Those who are ‘never’ seen, feel as if they are worthless and not needed. They have no intrinsic value in themselves.

Feeling unvalued will cause many people to turn to drugs, sex, crime, suicide or other extremes. They feel alone and not worth anything.

Hagar had borne a son to Abram and Sarai mistreated her, so she ran away. As she was sitting, ready to die, God appeared to her and blessed her. Hagar gave God the name of the God who sees her.

Going through difficult times is hard for any person. Often they feel all alone. It becomes more difficult when one is being mistreated, because then they not only are going through a tough time, but also feel as though they are being hated.

No one is exempt from difficult times, not even believers. Many believers have gone through struggles in which they feel as if they are all alone, sometimes even feeling as if God had abandoned them.

Despite the loneliness, God has not left any believer alone. He is right there and sees what is going on. He will never leave nor abandon the believer. God will wait for the right time to step in and remove the problem and make all things right.

Until that time occurs, God will also comfort, guide and strengthen those who trust in Him and walk according to His ways knowing that God knows what is best and sees them.

Even if all of your friends and family abandon you or treat you badly, God is right there with you. He sees every situation that you are going through, whether good or bad, easy or difficult.

Knowing that God sees you and what is going on can give you comfort and strength to keep going forward. Trust that God knows what is best for your life and walk in that path.

Do not allow discouragement or fear to overtake your mind and make you think that God does not see or care about you. God loves you with a perfect love and will always do what is right and best for you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know that God sees you at all times; that you will know that God knows what is occurring in your life; that you will trust God’s work in your life; and that God will remove all discouragement of difficult times.
