Genesis 5:24 Walk Faithfully With God

Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. Genesis 5:24

Going through life is considered a journey by many. Some appear to be running, while others are walking and taking their time and enjoying life. Yet, others are trying to stop life.

Many who continue to go through life are constantly changing their views, actions and commitments. It is rare to hear of a person staying with one job for twenty years, or to stay with one spouse for life. The faithfulness in a person is rare to see or hear of.

Enoch is briefly described as having faithfully walked with God and then God took him. Enoch had lived 365 years in faithful walk with God.

Walking with someone means that a person will stay right by the other person during their journey, whether short or long, easy or difficult. During times that are easy on both, it is easy to walk alongside each other. However, when one or the other has difficulties or faults, many walk away, breaking the relationship.

This type of action is sadly seen in the church. Many begin to walk with God, but when difficulties arise, they choose to turn away from God.

Having lived for 365 years, Enoch had to have had some difficulties. Some of those were ones that he probably wondered why God allowed to occur. Yet, in all those challenges, he did not give up on God, but kept faithful walking with God and trusting Him.

Believers need to dig their heels in and continue to walk with God, faithfully obeying and trusting God and His commands no matter what difficulty lies in their path. God is faithful and will provide all that is needed, so that one day He can bring that believer home to heaven to live together for eternity.

God has called you to walk on a journey through this life with Him that will go throughout eternity. He never promised an easy, fun journey, but He did promise to never leave or forsake you. He did promise to provide you with all that you need.

Do not allow the world and its ways to turn you away from that walk with God. Trust God with all of your life and be faithful to Him as He is faithful to you. In the end you will have the reward of living for eternity with Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the path God has called you to walk; that you will walk daily with God in all that you say and do; that God will give you all that you need for the journey; and that you will be faithful till God calls you home.
