Revelation 9:20 Refusal To Repent

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshipping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood–idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Revelation 9:20

The majority of the world does not believe in God. They have chosen to follow the idols of this world, seeking self-pleasure.

Focus is placed upon the physical things of this world and immediate pleasure, rather than the eternal. Even as things go bad and people are dying, the world, as a whole, looks to trying to fix things their own way, refusing to seek God.

In John’s vision of God judging the earth and killing many people, the rest of the people refuse to repent and turn to God. They continue to worship idols rather than the true God.

At times in America’s past there have been some major disastrous events that hit America. During those times many would turn to God in repentance and seeking help. As time has gone along, fewer and fewer seek God during times of trouble.

This occurs in many places around the world. Rather than turning to God, they get angry with God and seek their own idols to help.

The world believes that their own idols of fame, fortune, and personal strength can help them in any and every situation. Doctors and scientists are sought out to solve every situation. God is rejected, despite the failures of their own people.

As the time of the return of Jesus gets closer, people will grow more and more cold to God. Rejection of God will increase, despite the death all around them.

Every believer must keep His focus and trust upon God, rather than upon the false idols of man and this world.

During times of trouble, sickness and death you have a choice to make. You can choose to seek the ways of the world to solve the problems, rejecting God. Or you can choose to seek God and trust Him to guide you through the situations.

The ways of the world follow false gods that cannot do anything at all, but lead one to death. Take time to seek the one and only living and true God. Repent of your sins and accept His forgiveness. Worship God and God alone and receive life that will last for eternity.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God in every situation; that God will strengthen you to turn from the idols of this world; and that you will worship God and God alone.
