2 Peter 1:3 Everything Is Provided

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

Every time a person gets ready to do a project, he has to make sure that he has everything that is needed. He does not want to get into the middle of a project, only to find out that he is short some of the required materials.

The only way to know if someone has all he needs, if he reads the instructions on how to complete the project. Many choose not to read the instructions and just wing it on their own, thus failing to complete the project.

Peter opens his second book with telling the people that God’s divine power has given them everything needed to live a godly life. God called the people and provided for them everything needed.

Although people strive to live a godly life on their own, they will always fail. No one has the ability, on his own, to live a perfect Godly and holy life on his own. He will fail, falling into sin sooner or later.

Often people in the church refuse to listen to the Holy Spirit and choose to do things their own way. In doing so, they fail at living a Godly life and begin to live as the world does, in sin.

Instead of relying on his own abilities, every true believer will rely upon God’s power and direction. Throughout scripture God has given directions on how to live a Godly life. In the New Testament, God sent His Holy Spirit to guide the believer in living the Godly life.

God has given everything needed, but the believer has to accept and use what God has already provided.

When you see yourself struggling to overcome sin and failing to live for God, take note of where you are drawing your strength from. Are you trying to do it in your own power and abilities? Or are you relying upon God’s divine power and abilities?

Look to God for His strength and Holy Spirit to guide you in living as Jesus did, a holy and Godly life. Do not allow pride and self to control, or else you will fail and sin.

God has given you everything you need, are you using His materials and instructions?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit; that you will live your life as Jesus lived His; that you will rely upon God’s power to be holy; and that you will rely upon God’s provision in your life.
