2 Peter 1:3 All That You Need

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

Depending upon where a person lives often determines how much he feels that he needs to really live life. In some locations, a person will need a new vehicle, a boat, a gated house or else they are not allowed to live there. Other locations have no direct requirements.

Advertisements abound everywhere in telling people what they need to really live life. People are constantly searching for more things that they need to make life better or easier for them.

Peter tells the people that God’s power has given them everything that they need to live the godly life He has called them to live.

Excuses are given every day why people are unable to live a very Godly lifestyle. Most often one will just say that he is human and cannot be like Jesus. Many will allow the pressures and cares of this world to keep them from being holy because God is holy.

God, in His infinite wisdom, power and love, has provided everything that a person needs to live a Godly life. Starting with the scriptures, there is a verse that will guide a person on how to live holy for every situation he may ever be in. After Jesus left the earth, He sent the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen a person to live that Godly life.

The choice every believer must make for himself, is whether he will tap into the power that God has given him to live that holy and Godly life. There is nothing more that a person needs than what God has already given, it is just a matter of using what God has given.

You have choices every day as to how you will live your life. You may live as the world lives, in sin, or you may choose to live like Jesus, a Godly and holy life. As a believer, you must be willing to choose to live as God called you to live, like Jesus, a holy and Godly life.

Open God’s word and study it to know how God wants you to live. Then seek the Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide you to live that holy life.

All things are possible, since God will give you all that you need.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know how God wants you to live your life; that you will know the power of God in your life; that you will live a holy life as Jesus did; and that you will rely upon strength and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:3 Everything Is Provided

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

Every time a person gets ready to do a project, he has to make sure that he has everything that is needed. He does not want to get into the middle of a project, only to find out that he is short some of the required materials.

The only way to know if someone has all he needs, if he reads the instructions on how to complete the project. Many choose not to read the instructions and just wing it on their own, thus failing to complete the project.

Peter opens his second book with telling the people that God’s divine power has given them everything needed to live a godly life. God called the people and provided for them everything needed.

Although people strive to live a godly life on their own, they will always fail. No one has the ability, on his own, to live a perfect Godly and holy life on his own. He will fail, falling into sin sooner or later.

Often people in the church refuse to listen to the Holy Spirit and choose to do things their own way. In doing so, they fail at living a Godly life and begin to live as the world does, in sin.

Instead of relying on his own abilities, every true believer will rely upon God’s power and direction. Throughout scripture God has given directions on how to live a Godly life. In the New Testament, God sent His Holy Spirit to guide the believer in living the Godly life.

God has given everything needed, but the believer has to accept and use what God has already provided.

When you see yourself struggling to overcome sin and failing to live for God, take note of where you are drawing your strength from. Are you trying to do it in your own power and abilities? Or are you relying upon God’s divine power and abilities?

Look to God for His strength and Holy Spirit to guide you in living as Jesus did, a holy and Godly life. Do not allow pride and self to control, or else you will fail and sin.

God has given you everything you need, are you using His materials and instructions?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit; that you will live your life as Jesus lived His; that you will rely upon God’s power to be holy; and that you will rely upon God’s provision in your life.
