For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you, 1 Thessalonians 1:4
Most people know what it is like to not be chosen. It often starts when a person is in school and playing a game in a gym class. Others are chosen first, while a few are chosen last and only because they have to be chosen, not because they are really wanted.
This type of action continues into adulthood. People often get overlooked in the workplace, while others get chosen out of special treatment. Millions of people live in depression, because they feel they are not loved nor wanted.
Paul tells the Thessalonian church that he and his companions know that they are love and chosen by God.
In a world that is focused upon self, it is easy for one to feel rejected, unwanted and alone. No one has time for others in the busyness of his own life and goals. When a person chooses someone else, it is often for selfish reasons.
What the world does not know or understand is that God loves each and every person and desires to choose them. God longs for a deep relationship with each and every person. It is the entire purpose that He created mankind in the beginning.
Even though God loves and chooses every person, not every person will love and choose God. A few will see the truth and turn away from this dark world and its ways, and choose to love and serve God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. They will know the true love of God in their lives.
Some believers will even struggle with knowing that God loves and chooses them. They will believe the lies of the world that they are worthless. However, according to God, this is not true. God does love and choose them.
You may be one of those who question the love of God for you. You may wonder if He really wants you, because of all the mistakes you have made.
Do not believe the lies of this world, God does love you and chooses you. He wants to have a loving relationship with you. That is why He sent Jesus to die for you. Jesus went out of His way to save you, so know that He really does love you and want you, despite your faults.
Live in His love and choosing.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the love God has for you; that you will know that God chooses to be with you; that God will provide abundantly for all you need; and that God has a purpose for your life.
