Revelation 17:14 The War Will Be Won

Victory Sword

They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings–and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers. Revelation 17:14

War is something that the majority of people do not want. And even more people do not want to be a part of a war. War always means that many will get hurt or be killed. There is often division during a war, some wanting the war, while others against it.

There are groups of people, who are so much against war of any type, that they will protest and riot against having war or anyone going to war. Yet, despite the like or hatred of war, there is a war going on. It has gone on since the day Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden of Eden.

Satan and this world has been battling against God and Jesus for all time. They do not want Jesus to succeed, so they have waged a war against Him. The goal is to kill as many people as possible, preventing them from getting into heaven.

The war battles are fierce. They are fighting for the mind and soul and many times for the body of every person they can battle with.

Even though it often appears that Jesus is losing this war, he will triumph in the end. He is Lord and King over every person on this earth, whether they like it or not. Along with Him, will be every person who has been called, chosen and a faithful follower.

All people are called, many are chosen, but not everyone is a faithful follower. To be a faithful follower, one must obediently do what Jesus commands, to live as He lived.

Jesus will win the war in the end. You have a choice as to which side of the war will you be on.

Jesus has called you. He wants everyone to be saved. Have you answered that call to follow Him?

Once you have answered the call, you are now chosen. Now you must become a faithful follower. Take a look at your life and see how you are following Jesus.

Are you being His witness? Are you turning away from sin? Are you showing love, mercy and forgiveness? Are you fighting for the kingdom of God?

In all this, are you a faithful follower who will win with Jesus in the end?

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will fight the war with Jesus; that you will be found to be a faithful follower of Jesus; and that you will fight in knowing Jesus will win the war in the end.

Haggai 2:23 God’s Signet Ring

” ‘On that day,’ declares the LORD Almighty,  ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the LORD Almighty.” Haggai 2:23

Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah and was to lead the people in rebuilding the temple and the nation. God tells him not to be afraid and that He would be with him. He would be made like God’s signet ring as God proceeds to overthrow other kingdoms and their armies. Zerubbabel was chosen by God.

In ancient days, kings would have a special ring called the signet ring. It had the mark of the king on it for his signature. A little wax would be put on a paper and the king would press the ring into wax showing his signature. It gave the person who had that paper the same authority as the king in whatever situation it was for.

Today people use powers of attorney to give someone else the same authority. It is their signature that power has been given correctly. In the work place, managers often give workers a certain amount of authority in an area of the workplace. Everyone knows that whoever has that stamp of approval has the power.

Believers today also are given a stamp of approval by God. They are stamped with the Holy Spirit in their lives. In the process of being filled with God’s Holy Spirit a person becomes God’s signet ring. They can now work in the authority and power of God.

Paul said that believers are in a spiritual war all the time. The spiritual enemies will not recognize just anyone, but they will know who Jesus is and His Holy Spirit. They will flee from the authority of God in the life of a person.

Each day you need to be walking in the Spirit of God in this corrupt, fallen world. The enemy is out to get you, but with God’s Spirit you can overcome the enemy. You will have the power and authority of God to push back the enemy.

Do not feel like you are a nobody with no power. Jesus has given you all of His authority. He has made you His signet ring to defeat the enemy in this world.

Are you walking in His power?

I pray today that you will know the authority God has given you; that you will be filled with His Holy Spirit; that you will not fear the enemy; and that God will strengthen you to overcome the world.

Hosea 7:10 Being Arrogant

Israel’s arrogance testifies against him, but despite all this  he does not return to the LORD his God or search for him. Hosea 7:10

Israel was God’s chosen people. God had personally selected them to be His people and to reveal Himself to the world through them. Since they were God’s chosen people, the people felt that they were extra special and could do whatever they wanted. They felt that they were the best and above all wrong, regardless of what they did. In this process they refused to turn to God or even search for Him.

Being labeled as arrogant is not a term that most people would want to be given. It is a term that is negative in its connotation. Being called arrogant means one is very stuck on himself and thinks that he is the best or better than anyone else. A lot of times people say an arrogant person has his nose stuck up in the air, because he is looking down on everyone else.

Over the years there have been many different famous people who were very arrogant in their words. Sports players, movie stars, singers, and politicians have been labeled or seen as very arrogant. Yet, many of these same people have fallen down and crushed. Often because of someone better than them, others because of some crime that they committed. They feel as though they are so good, that they can do no wrong or will be let off the hook on it.

Sadly, this same type of arrogance occurs in the church, just as it did with Israel. Leaders in the church feel as though they are the best. Individuals in the church carry the label of “Christian” and feel as though they can do no wrong at all.

Many believers have some success in their life, then suddenly stop seeking God, because they feel as though it was all their own work. They become very arrogant.

Take a look at your own life. Who gave you the ability to do what you do? Who opened the doors to allow you to do what you do?

It was not you who gave you all these things, it was God. As you go through your day, each day, seek God and what He wants. Do not allow yourself to think that you did it on your own or that you are the best. Let God have all that glory.

I pray today that you will seek God with all of your heart; that you will allow God to work through you; and that you will know it is by God’s power that you are here.

Hosea 1:8-9 Called Not His People

After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son. Then the LORD said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.” Hosea 1:8-9

God had Hosea marry a woman who was a prostitute to point out the sin of Israel. The nation had prostituted themselves against God. Her second child to be born was called L0-Ammi by God. With giving this name God was telling the people that they were not His people anymore and He was no longer their God.

The people of Israel had been chosen by God and were always considered His people, His nation. However, when the people had chosen to follow idols and reject God, He turned His back on them. God rejected them as His people for a time.

Most people would be willing to say that they reject the idea of prostitution and would not have any part of it. Yet, they are doing the very same thing with God on a daily basis. Churches have many people who attend just to look good or to do their weekly duty. They are not there to serve and worship God.

During the week, their hearts and minds are on anything but God. They are running hard after the things of this world. They are serving themselves and the gods of this world, lust, passion, greed, selfishness, pride, fame, fortune, and much more. On Sundays they may claim to be a believer, but their hearts are far from it.

Israel had been living in this same way, and so God had rejected them, for a time. He refused to call them His people because they had turned away from Him.

If you call God your God, then you must serve and worship Him alone. You cannot allow yourself to run after other gods and put God on the side. God will not share Himself with another god of any type.

Be willing to reject the gods of this world so that you may serve the one true God. Do not live your life in a way, in which God will have to say that you are not His child or people. Jesus made a way for you, do not reject Him in your day-to-day living. Worship Him and serve Him seven days a week.

I pray today that you will serve and worship God alone; that God will be able to say you are His child; that you will not be rejected by God; and that you will be His witness in this world.
