2 Chronicles 7:16 Chosen And Consecrated
I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. 2 Chronicles 7:18
Names to be placed on special buildings are done on a regular basis. Often it is done by someone who has paid a huge amount of the expense to have the building built and desire their name to be upon it. Having one’s name on it is giving approval for that building and what goes on inside of it, and also gives honor to the one whose name is on it.
After Solomon dedicated the new temple of God, God came to him and told him that He had chosen and consecrated this temple so that His name would be there forever and that He would keep His eyes and ears on it.
The world loves to have their name known as someone special. Those who are extremely wealthy desire to get their name out there on things that are permanent and will continue to bring in more wealth. However, all of this is for self and is selfish.
Every person who has chosen to repent and believe in Jesus has become a new creation; they are a new building–the temple of God. This is all done by the choosing of God. It is God who calls a person to repentance and the person accepts the call. Once accepted, God then consecrates the person, removing all sin and making him the new temple of God.
As the temple of God believers carry the name of One who is greater than any person that has ever walked upon the earth. God, the creator of the universe and all that is in it, has chosen to place His name upon the believer for all eternity.
Before you became a believer God chose you to be one of His children. The moment you chose to accept God’s call for repentance and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you became a new temple of God.
The process of God consecrating you to be holy and righteous began upon your repentance and belief. He is working in your life to make you more like Jesus every day. His name now rests upon you for all the world to see for all eternity. God is keeping an eye on you and is listening for your call to Him, since His name is now on you.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know you are a temple of God; that you will allow God to consecrate you to be holy and righteous for His namesake; and that you will know His presence in your life each and every day.
Revelation 17:14 Jesus Will Have Victory
They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings–and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers. Revelation 17:14
Wars and battles have been fought by many nations and groups of people all over the earth for centuries. As these battles are fought, there are those who win and those who lose in the end.
On some occasions, the group that appeared to be weaker of the two ended up winning the battle. Some appear to be weak but are stronger than the opponent.
John states that there are ten kings who will wage war with the Lamb–Jesus, but Jesus will win in the end because He is The Lord and King of all. Those who are faith and chosen will be with Him in the winning.
It is easy for people to see physical battles and wars going on between nations. The bombs and killings are easy to see. Different groups are fighting for victory over someone else.
While these physical battles are going on, there is another war that is occurring that many do not fully see. It is more subtle at times. This battle is against Jesus and those who are for Jesus–all believers who obey His commands.
Satan and the world are out to destroy all belief in Jesus and the works that He and His followers are doing. They will use lies and deception in their attempt.
At times the world appears to be winning the war, but in the end Jesus and His followers will win. Jesus has already overcome death, so there is nothing or anyone who can overcome Him. All who believe in Him and follow Him will also have victory with Him in the end.
As a believer in Jesus the world is out to stop you and destroy you. Attacks will come at you from all sides and in all forms. You are in a war for your life and the lives of those you meet.
Do not lose your focus upon Jesus. Continue to trust in Jesus and obey His every command. Despite all of the attacks and wounds that you may go through, you will be on the winning side in the end.
Jesus will triumph against the world and you with Him.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will remain faithful in following Jesus; that you will obey the commands of God; and that you will see victory in Jesus over the enemies of God.
1 Thessalonians 1:4 God Chose You
For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 1 Thessalonians 1:4
Every person likes to be wanted or chosen. It gives them a sense of value and worth. It encourages and strengthens a person to continue moving forward.
Deep hurts have scared people for life, when as a child, they were not chosen on a regular basis when playing games or sports. It gives the person a sense that they have no value and that no one wants them at all. This often creates problems that continue into adulthood.
Paul tells the Thessalonian church that he knows that they are loved by God and that He had chosen them.
Some, with a selfish pride, feel as if they are the one who had chosen God. It is placed completely upon what they said or did, leaving God out of the picture.
While a person must choose to believe in Jesus, God has to choose the person first. In His perfect and eternal love, God ALWAYS chooses everyone first.
God does not want anyone to perish, but all to be saved. His love begins before any person can possibly begin to love Him. It is started when the person still hates Him and is against Him. This love started before the creation of the world and continues to this day for each and every person that walks upon this earth.
However not everyone recognizes God’s great love for them. Some do not see that God has already chosen them to forgive them and save them. These people chose to live in selfish pride and sin, rejecting the one who died for them to save them.
Those who have chosen to believe in Jesus, have chosen to recognize that God loves them and has already chosen them. This is why they put aside selfishness and sin to follow Jesus.
Whether you believe in Jesus or not, God has already chosen you. He loves you with an eternal and perfect love that cannot end, regardless of how you live your life.
Take a moment to think about how much love God has for you, in that He, Creator of the universe, has chosen you while you still hated Him. As you allow that thought to sink in, choose today to believe in and follow Jesus, because of His great love for you in choosing you. Know that you are of great value to God.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know that God has chosen you; that you will know God’s great love for you; that you will choose to believe in and follow Jesus; and that you will know your value in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:4 God Chose You For A Purpose
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:4
One of the things most people need is purpose. They want to know the purpose for what it is that they are doing or have to do.
People will get frustrated and give up when there is no purpose or reasoning for the actions being required. Having purpose gives a person motivation to keep moving forward with what is required. It helps him keep going, when things are difficult.
As Paul opens his letter to the Ephesian church, he tells them that they and he were chosen by God to be holy and blameless before Him. This was done before the creation of the world.
When a person looks at all of the commands God has given throughout the bible, he may often wonder why they are there. All of the commands God has given are given out of love for every person. It is to guide them on how to live a holy and blameless life before God and before man.
The world looks at life and sees it as to eat, drink and be merry today, with no regard for eternity or God. Without God there is no moral standard of right or wrong that is universal. Anything goes in the moment and there is no such thing as sin.
Unlike the world, the believer has a standard he is expected to live by. This standard is God’s standard and it was set before the world was created. God wants His followers to be holy and blameless.
Being holy and blameless means one will not do any harm to any other person, nor to God. It is all about love for others and for God, the whole purpose God has for people.
Going through life on this planet, you may wonder why God has you there and in situations that you are in. Everything that God puts in your path of life is to form you into the image of Jesus, who is holy and blameless before God and man.
Learn from God how to live your life in a holy and blameless way. Instead of focusing on sin, focus upon living for God according to His standards. Living in that way will guide you in what God expects of you and give you purpose for your life.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s purpose for your life; that you will live holy and blameless before God and man; that you will find your value in Christ Jesus; and that God will strengthen you to turn from the ways of this world.
