I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us–yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses. Isaiah 63:7
People love to talk about many different things. Some will talk about the latest sports games, others talk about politics or whatever is going on in the news. Some will talk about the newest movies or trends occurring. Parents often talk about their children or grandchildren. And the list is endless.
Regardless of what people talk about, it is always about something of interest. It is always the interest of the person talking, and sometimes in the interest of the person listening.
Isaiah says one of the things he will talk about is God’s kindness and good deeds. He is recognizing and telling people of all the good things God has done for Israel, so that He may be praised.
Every believer has something that they can talk about, no matter what is going on in life. That one thing is God’s great kindness. No one had to be saved. Every person deserved punishment and death because of sin. Yet, God in His great love chose to provide for forgiveness of sins and salvation.
Along with salvation, God has also done many things for every person. His provision of breath, life, food, clothing, and shelter are just a few of the basics. God has also provided healing, joy, peace, comfort, understanding, wisdom, direction and more.
The amount of kind things that God has done for every believer is endless. These are the things a believer can talk about. Other believers need to be encouraged with hearing these things. The world needs to hear it to know who God is and what He is like.
Every day you will have opportunities to talk to someone. Sometimes for just a few minutes, other times for hours. Instead of just talking about the news and the weather, talk about what God has done and is doing in your life.
Be quick to share with others the good deeds God has done for you. This will encourage some to trust in God more. It will also be a witness of your love for God and who God is in your life.
If you really think about it, you will never run out of good things to talk about when talking about God.
I pray today that you will know the salvation Jesus provides; that your eyes will be open to the kindness and good deeds of God; that you will talk about what God is doing to all you meet; and that you will share God’s kindness with others.
