Psalm 119:81 Faint With Waiting

My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119:81

Waiting is something that takes a toll on most people. It causes people to get frustrated and tired. People do not like to have to wait for anything.

Standing in lines at a checkout counter and waiting in line while driving in extremely slow traffic are the two areas most common for waiting…and complaining. People get tired of waiting and start to complain about it. They wonder why the store does not open more checkout lines, and why is the guy in front moving so slow.

In this life, waiting is something that is common. People must even wait for God to answer a prayer. The psalmist states that his soul is faint from longing or waiting for God’s salvation to come. This salvation can be an answer to a needed prayer. The ultimate salvation is when a person steps into heaven, but can be saving from some tough situation in life.

Believers wait and long for God to answer their prayers. They read God’s Word and see His promises and long for them to be fulfilled in their life. The hard part is the waiting.

Many times God does not answer a prayer immediately. He usually waits to answer the prayer and meet the need. He waits for the right time.

You can be like the psalmist, however, and put your trust in God’s Word. God said that He would meet your every need, that He would always be with you, and that He would save you.

Long for and desire God to bring you your needed salvation. Seek it out, but then wait for it. Do not give up on waiting on God to meet your need. Put all of your trust in His Word and His promises.

God is faithful and will never fail. Every promise that He has made, He has fulfilled or will fulfill.

What are you searching and longing for?

Is it your own answers or answers from this world?

Or is it the answers God has for you?

Don’t give up waiting on God, He will come through in His time.

I pray today that you will seek the salvation of God in every area of your life; that God will give you strength as you wait on Him; that you will wait for God’s answer; and that you will trust in God’s Word.
