Psalm 111:2 What To Think About

Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Psalm 111:2

Over the centuries there have been many different great thinkers or philosophers. Some of the known names are: Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Confucius, John McDowell, and Judith Butler. Some are ancient and some are modern. One thing common in each of them is that they each look at life and ponder or think about what the meaning of it is.

Not every person thinks very deeply about the meaning of things in life all the time, but every person does think about at times. This especially occurs when things are not going very well, when life throws them a curveball and makes it very difficult. People wonder why there is death and sickness, pain and suffering. The reasons that people give for answers to these questions are of a great variety.

Scientists are trying to figure out why there is life on this planet and how it all began. Philosophers are trying to figure out what all this life really means.

In searching for answers to these questions, the answer can only be found in God. He is the one who started everything and He is the one who can bring it to an end.

Those who believe in God can look at all the works of God and be amazed. The works of God are all the things He has created on this earth and His work in the lives of men and women around the world.

Just take a moment and think about all the things God has done for you. He has provided air to breath, ability to think, move and talk, the beauty of trees, animals, sunrises and sunsets, food and water, and much more. Along with these things He has given you His presence, being by your side at all times.

The ultimate works that He has done is giving you forgiveness and salvation.

Take time to ponder all these things and be delighted in what God has done in and for you.

It will take you all of eternity to think about all the things God has already done for you, if you will just take the time to list everything. The list is too enormous to ever fully finish.

What are you pondering about?

What gives you great delight to think about?

I pray today that you will see the things God has done; that you will think about what God has done and is doing; that you will take delight in God’s work; and that you will give God praise for His great works.
