Psalm 65:8 Filled With Awe

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, and where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65:8

Getting up before sunrise in the mornings can allow a person to see some beautiful sights. As the sun starts to rise over the horizon, the darkness begins to fade away, the sky turns beautiful shades of color. The rays of light begin to get rid of the darkness. The sun rises as a small orange-yellow fireball on the horizon.

The rising of the sun brings about life on this earth. After the darkness of night, there arises new life.

Sitting out on a porch, in the country, one may see some deer start to move around to eat. In the treetops, one will begin to hear birds start singing their morning songs. These can be seen as songs of joy, giving praise to God for another day.

These scenes are often missed by many people, in the business of life. People are often in a rush to get to work, or school and miss what God is doing. As they drive down the road, heading to work, they miss the wonders of God’s creation.

Focusing on self, they do not take time to be filled with awe at what God has for them and to give Him praise. The birds see it and take time to praise God, even though they have a full day of searching for food, and building or maintaining a nest. They see the wonders of God.

As you begin your day, take a moment to see the wonders of God’s creation. Take a moment to realize that God has blessed you with another day here on this earth. You have another opportunity to be His witness. You have been given another opportunity to see God do a new miracle of provision for your life.

When you see these wonders and notice the opportunities you have, give God praise. Allow yourself to be filled with awe and joy at what God is doing. Do not take it for granted. Not everyone will be able to get up this morning. Not everyone will be able to see His creation.

Sing with the birds this morning some songs of joy to God.

I pray today that you will see what God is doing; that you will see the wonders of God’s creation in front of you; that your heart will be filled with awe and joy; and that you will sing with joy praises to God.
