Revelation 22:20 He Is Coming Soon

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

The final words of Jesus in the final book of the Bible is that He said He is coming soon. From Genesis to Revelation the focus of the Bible is to for God to have a relationship with every person.

God started out walking with man in the garden, till man chose to sin and break that relationship. Then God worked at restoring that relationship. The greatest step in that restoration process was when Jesus died and rose again to pay the price for every person’s sins. The grand finale of the restoration of that relationship will be when Jesus returns to take everyone who believes in Him to heaven. He says that will be soon.

The world tries to tell people that Jesus is not returning and that His words were a lie. Since mankind has waited for nearly two-thousand years already, He must not be coming.

Really, how long is two-thousand years? For most people a few days, or a few hours, can be a long time, depending on your situation. While waiting for a big event, a few days can be a long time. While working at work, a few hours can be a long time. When in an accident, a few minutes can be eternity.

In light of eternity, a few thousand years is a short time. God is patient and wanting every person to have a chance to follow Jesus. He does not want anyone to die.

Some people, however, are not looking forward to Jesus return. They want to live in this world and enjoy it. They are not living for Jesus, but for themselves.

Where are you at in light of Jesus return?

Are you being impatient and giving up on His return?

Are you secretly hoping His return is not today?

Or are you looking forward to His return?

Seek His return. Tell others about Jesus so that they may be ready. Remember, when He returns for His people, it is to take them to heaven with no more pain or suffering for eternity. What could be better than that?

Be like John and say, “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

I pray today that you will follow Jesus with all of your life; that you will look forward for Jesus’ return; that you will be ready for Jesus to return; and that you will tell everyone about Jesus.
