1 Timothy 5:24-25 Every Action Revealed

“The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever.” 1 Timothy 5:24-25

After laying out some general ways of living Paul talks about sins and good deeds. These are both the good and bad actions of people everywhere.

People everywhere have sins in their life. Believers try to keep it quiet and not let it be known. They try to keep their sins in the closet.

Another believer who is striving to live correctly may see these sins and wonder why God is allowing that person to get away with it. God is patient and chooses the best time to deal with a person’s sin. It will be judged eventually by God. Some sins God deals with immediately. The person gets caught, or something goes wrong in their life because of that sin.

One who is an extreme alcoholic may not appear to have any consequences at the time for his problem. Later in life, however, there comes a time when there will be many health complications and he pays a price for his sin.

At the same time on the opposite side is those who do good deeds. Many times a person does something good and no one seems to notice. At work a person goes above and beyond the required work, then watches another get promoted first. Those good deeds have not gone unnoticed. If no one else, God has seen them. In the right time they will be made known.

If you are living with a sin, know that God sees it and will bring you to judgment some day, if you do not change. Also if you are doing good deeds, and no one seems to notice, God does and some day will reward you for them.

Nothing remains hidden forever. People may not see them for a time, but God always sees them, whether in secret or in public.

Do not allow yourself to live with a sin.

Do not give up on doing good deeds. God will reward you accordingly some day.

I pray today that God will strengthen you to turn from any secret sins in your life; that God will pour out His blessings on you for your good deeds; that you will rejoice with others doing good deeds; and that you will pray for others living in sin.
