“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
As a person goes through life, there are times of trouble and hardship. The biggest question every person has is usually: Why? People want to know why there are troubles. This is especially true for believers. Believers feel that there should be no troubles in life, since they are following Jesus.
Jesus had promised that there would be troubles. At the time He stated that, He did not state why there would be troubles. Paul now brings up the reason for those troubles: for the good of those who love Him. God works in every situation in life to help the believer towards his purpose for God.
You may never really know why you went through a situation in life, but you can know that God is working it for your good. The best good for you is building you up more and more to be like Jesus.
The world will try to tear you down and get you to not be more like Jesus or even to believe in Him. Yet, if you keep your focus on Jesus and what He is doing in your life, all the situations thrown at you will only help build you up more like Jesus. You know that God first and foremost plan for you is to be like Jesus. If that is the case (which it is) then you know that God will use anything and everything He can to accomplish that purpose, and God will succeed.
Think about how Joseph went through many different ups and downs of both good and bad. In the end he stated that it was God’s purpose to get him where he needed to be to help others out. God is working the same way in your life today.
Are you willing to trust that God is in control? Are you willing to trust that God will not allow anything bad to happen that is not there to help you in the long run?
Know that you are predestined by God to be like Jesus. You are to speak, act and look like Him. Do not be discouraged then when things get touch in life. Know that it is really for your good. God will use it.
I pray today that you will know the love God has for you; that you will know His purpose for your life; that you will be more like Jesus everyday; and that you will allow God to use all situations to make you more like Jesus.
