“He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.” Acts 3:8
As Peter and John were going up to the temple to pray, they met a man who had been lame his entire life. This man had never been able to walk. He sat there to beg for food and money just to survive. Peter tells him that they have no money, but gives him healing by Jesus. The man then gets up and starts praising God out loud while jumping around. Everyone around saw what had happened or heard about it quickly.
Most people do not get to see a miracle like this, a healing of a lifetime physical problem. The miracles often seen today are of people being healed of a sickness that had just occurred in the last few months or years, not the entire life. When they are seen, however, most people do get excited. The person being healed is also excited.
Another area to look at is the “little” miracles of everyday that God does in your life. God is providing daily for your food, clothing, and housing. These are things that you should be excited about and praising God for.
Along with all of these daily miracles, you must also remember that Jesus has saved you from your sins. He has given you life. This should give you reason to jump around shouting praises to God.
Often many believers look at their salvation as something that had happened a long time ago. The excitement of their salvation has faded. The great miracle of God loving them has disappeared.
Do not allow this to happen in your life. Stay excited about what God has done and is doing in your life. Everyday God is doing something in your life. Are you looking for it? Do you see what He is doing? If so, does it make you excited? Or is it just the same thing, different day life for you?
It is through this excitement that many people will get to know Jesus. It is through this excitement that will open doors for you to tell others about Jesus.
Are you excited today?
I pray today that God will open your eyes to what He has done for you; that you will have excitement for all the things God is doing for you; that you will shout praises to God for His work in your life; and that you will tell others what Jesus is doing today.
