Deuteronomy 4:9 Don’t Forget

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9

All around the nation and the world there are memorials placed to help people remember certain events or people. This is often done to remember something very good to keep it going or something bad to prevent it from occurring again.

Some people will hold on to those memories, while others will ignore and forget them.

Moses told the people to be careful to remember the things that they had seen and to teach those things to their children and grandchildren.

While traveling through the desert wilderness, the Israelites had seen many different miracles of God in their lives. God had revealed Himself to them in provision of food, water, clothing and protection from enemies.

Any believer who trusts in God and follows Him will be able to look at his life and see God’s hand at work in it. He will be able to see God work miracles of provision, protection, healing and more.

Often people forget what has happened or ignore God’s hand in what occurred. Forgetting these things will cause one to fear when a new trouble arises. Instead of trusting God, one will begin to complain against God or turn to other false gods. It will give the enemy a foothold in one’s life, pulling him away from God.

Every believer needs to remember what God has done in his life and tell others about it. This will strengthen one’s own trust in God and build up trust in God in others. Nothing is greater than the testimony of the one who actually experienced the incident.

Take a moment to stop and think about all the things God has done in your life. Some of those things may be great miracles, while others are just quiet provisions behind the scenes. Make a list to see how many things God has already done. Now remember those things when a new trial comes up.

Do not allow yourself to get discouraged or to cower in fear forgetting what God has done and can do. Trust God. Then go and tell others what God has already done, so that others may also learn to trust in God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God has done for you; that you will remember the work of God in your life; that you will trust God with your whole life; and that you will tell others of what God has done in your life.

Acts 18:9 Don’t Be Silent

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.” Acts 18:9

There are times when someone has something to say that is contrary to the common popular belief. Often the person does not say anything because it goes against what others are saying. They fear the rejection and whiplash of speaking out something different.

Some people are willing to speak no matter what others think or feel. In their minds there is no fear of what others are saying or doing.

Paul gets a vision from God one night, telling him to not be afraid and to keep on speaking. He is not to be silent in spreading the gospel message to the Gentiles.

Every believer has the greatest message that has ever been told. It is a message that every person on the earth needs to hear about. It is one of joy, peace, love, eternal life, healing, and much more.

Yet, most believers do not share that great message. They cower in fear and silence, not wanting to offend anyone or make anyone mad at them.

As they keep silent, millions of people are dying daily around the world never having known the saving message of Jesus Christ, who can change their lives and give them eternal life.

At the same time, as they are silent about the gospel message, they will talk all day about sports or politics or something else.

People need to hear about Jesus. They need to hear that there is forgiveness and eternal life available. They need to hear that there is One who will be with them through everything, giving them strength and hope to make it.

Instead of being silent and not offending, believers need to spread the gospel message to anyone that they can, every chance they can.

You have been given a message that every person in the world needs to hear. Even though you cannot reach every person, you can reach some.

Do not be afraid to talk about Jesus every where you go, to every one you meet. Do not be silent, when you have a chance to speak.

God will use you to reach people for Jesus. He will change hearts and lives and bring salvation into their lives and homes.

This can only happen if you do not stop talking and spreading the gospel message.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that God will remove all fear in your heart to speak; that you will tell everyone you can about Jesus; that God will change hearts and lives through the message you bring; and that you will not stop talking about Jesus.

1 Chronicles 16:8 Tell The World

Telling others

Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 1 Chronicles 16:8

Watching or listening to the news is a very common thing for people to do. They want to know what is happening in their city, state, nation and world. The television and internet is filled with hundreds of different sources for news.

Some news is focused on world news, while others are just local. Yet, even other news can be personal news. Facebook is filled with personal news about what is happening in a person’s life.

People get excited to talk about the good things that are happening in their life. They will also talk about the negative things that are occurring. Either way, people love to talk about what is happening and want to know what is happening in the lives of other people.

As David had the priests set up the ark of the covenant for worship, he told the people to being to give praise to God. In the process of giving that praise, they were also to tell the world what God has done for them. God had established them and made His presence among them.

Every believer has something to talk about. They have a news that is greater than any other news ever given. As soon as one becomes a believer, he has the message that he was a dead man, sentenced to die, but has been forgiven, set free and given eternal life. That is just the minimum of what God has done for the believer.

Each day believers can talk about how God has given them another day, the joy God has given them, the strength He has given, and all other provisions He has given. The world needs to know these things. They want to see what God has done and how it has changed a person.

God has done the same things for you and probably much more. Think about all the things God has done for you in your life. Now you must go and tell the world that news.

If the world can freely share all the bad news around the clock, you can share the best news ever around the clock. Someone out there is waiting to hear what you have to say about Jesus.

Take the time today to proclaim the name of Jesus and tell what He has done and is doing in your life with someone.

I pray today that you will know what God has done for you; that you will tell others what God has done; that you will not be ashamed of Jesus; and that many will believe in Jesus because of your story.

Deuteronomy 4:9 Don’t Forget

Forget me not flower

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teacher them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9

Remembering things is something that is needed to be done. It helps remind a person where he has come from and things he should or should not do. Looking back on one’s life will help one see the choices that were made, some that were disastrous and others that were successful.

Over time, there has been groups of people who strive to deny things that occurred in the past. They try to deny or ignore things that were negative in their lives. There are people who try to deny the holocaust or the slavery done in America. They try to rewrite the history books to deny these things.

Since Jesus walked on the earth, there are many who try to deny Jesus. Since the beginning of mankind, there are people who work hard to deny the existence of God.

God told the Israelites to be careful to remember everything that they had seen. Not only were they to remember them, but they were to pass the stories on to their children and grandchildren.

Every believer will have stories to tell of God’s provision or hand in their lives. Many will begin to forget about what God had done, when things get tough in life. Those who do remember, will find strength and hope in God, because they remember how God has already met a need in the past.

Forgetting the things God has done opens the door to doubt and fear. Many believers fear things happening, because they forget what God has already done and can do.

Take time to think about all the things God has done for you in your life. Take time to share that information with family and friends. Do not allow yourself to forget how God has worked in your life.

When the time comes that you are going to go through a tough time, and it will come, stop and take the time to remember how God has helped in the past. This will give you hope for your future. It will remove the fear of the situation, because you will see God is still at work in your life.

Don’t forget what God has done!

I pray today that you will remember the work of God in your life; that you will share what God has already done for you; that God will remove fear of difficult times; and that many will come to God through your testimony of His work in your life.
