Song Of Solomon 2:4 Eating At His Table

Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love. Song of Solomon 2:4

Eating food is one thing that people love to do. Many like to eat more food than they really should eat. Different people like to eat different types of foods, but the common factor is that all like to eat.

Restaurants that are set up buffet style are usually very large and always very busy. They provide a wide variety of foods to eat, and an unlimited amount of food. All this for one price. No one leaves hungry.

In this passage today, the bride is asking that the Lord lead her to his banquet hall. She wants to be able to eat at His table.

The Lord is the king. Every king eats very well and only the very best food. To eat there means one will not be eating macaroni and cheese, but prime steaks and lobster. It will only be the best.

As Jesus walked on this earth, He ate at His Father’s banquet table. He was provided more than enough food to sustain Him and satisfy Him. This food was to do the will of His Father. He found great satisfaction in doing what the Father wanted Him to do.

As a believer in Jesus, you are the bride of Christ. You should have a desire to eat at His table. The banquet table that Jesus eats at, is the Father’s table. Doing what God wants you to do will provide you with satisfaction and fulfillment.

In order to know what God wants you to do, you must take time to read the Bible. Take in what He says and devour it. Make it a part of your life. As you begin to know God and what He wants through His Word, you will know what to do in your life. Then you can begin to do those things and find the satisfaction that you need.

The only way this can happen is if you allow God to lead you to His banquet table. Taste of the Lord and find out that He is good. The food that He has for you is the best that there is. Remember that He is The King and only has the best food available.

I pray today that you will know the food God has for you; that you will hunger for His Word; that God will strengthen you to do His will; and that you will do whatever God asks of you.

Psalm 34:8 Try Him, You’ll Like Him

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8

Trying out a new type of food for the very first time is not something every person likes to do. Most people like to eat what they have always eaten, and nothing else. They will look at some new type of food and if it looks very appealing, they may try it. If it does not look appealing, they will not even consider it at all.

Others are more adventurous and willing to try most any type of food. If someone else is eating it, they will try it, with very few reservations. The bad stuff, they try once or twice, then never again. The good stuff, they keep on eating.

People do not like to change their habits. They like the way they are doing things and do not want to try out something new. Just as with eating food, they do the same in their lifestyles, they are content with where they are at and don’t want to try something new.

The psalmist gives out a challenge to the people. He challenges them to taste the Lord and find out if He is really good or not. This tasting is not literally eating Him, but working with God and trusting in Him to find out how good He really is.

Those who believe in and follow Jesus, will be able to testify that He is good. In fact, He is very GOOD. Where else can you find a one who is perfect and is full of the love and mercy as God is?

The only way you can know how good God is, is by actually trying Him out. Put your trust in Him and see what He can and will do in your life. Follow His ways and commands, and you will be able to see how good those commands really are.

Throughout history, millions have tried Jesus and found out that He is really GOOD. Are you willing to try Him out?

If you have already started to follow Jesus, are you willing to go to a new level with Him? Try God out at a higher level than ever before.

Taste Him today and see if He really is as good as others say.

I pray today that you will know God in a personal way; that you will trust God with all your heart; that you will taste God in new ways; and that you know that God is good.
