Zechariah 2:10-11 God Will Live With You

“Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD. “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.” Zechariah 2:10-11

While the Israelites were in captivity, God tells them that there is coming a day when He will come and live among them. At that time, not only will the Israelites be His people, but there will be many other nations that will become His people. The people were to shout and be glad about this. It was something that they were to look forward to. This was looking forward to the day when Jesus died and rose from the dead, opening the door to salvation of all people.

People look forward to many different things in life. Some things they know exactly when it will occur, such as: birthdays, Christmas, vacations, paychecks, paying off a bill, and many other things.

Other things they do not know when it will occur, they just know it will. Some of those things are: getting married, having children or grandchildren, purchasing a new car or house, and other major events in life.

Right now, every believer can know that God is with him and living with him. God’s presence can be known right now, causing one to shout and be glad.

Along with the here and now, the other thing that every believer can look forward to is spending eternity with God in heaven. Every believer, regardless of his past or nationality, has the opportunity to be one of God’s people. He can have God living with him wherever he is at. Jesus made that all possible.

Knowing that should make you shout and be glad. You should want to let the whole world know that God is with you and can be with the.

Not every person knows that this door has been opened. Many people believe that Israel is God’s people, but they are not Israelites, so they cannot be apart of it. Let the world know that Jesus wants to be with them. Let them know that they can be one of God’s people.

Does knowing God make you shout and be glad? Don’t hide it in.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will know that Jesus will come again some day; and that you will let the world know about Jesus.

Ezekiel 44:4 Falling Down Before God

Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked and saw the glory of the LORD filling the temple of the LORD, and I fell facedown. Ezekiel 44:4

Ezekiel was being shown the entire temple layout. In each area of the temple, he was given the details of the room and what it was to be used for. At some point during the tour of the temple, he was brought to the front of the temple where the glory of God was filling the temple. He was so overwhelmed with God’s presence that he fell facedown before God.

Being in the presence of someone really popular or powerful can be an overwhelming event. Women and girls often start screaming with joy and excitement when they get to be in the presence of some famous singer or actor. They cannot believe the chance they got to be in that place. Some may even pass out with the extreme excitement of the moment.

Those who get to meet a president or some other high level political power, will often do it with extreme respect for the position. They will dress up in their best and show full courtesy to the person.

Going before God should invoke the same type of response from a person. Often people go to church and show very little respect for God. They treat Him as though He is just another friend or buddy. Many do not realize His holiness and power.

Falling down before God is laying yourself down before Him, acknowledging that He is the one who is in control. It is also realizing that, in yourself, you are filled with sin and need His forgiveness. The priests during Ezekiel’s time were not bowing down before God, they were living in sin. You must not live that way.

Allow yourself to be laid down on the altar before God. Let Him do with you what He wants to do with you.

When you are in His presence, it is not about you, but all about Him. His presence should be with you daily and all throughout the day, because He said He would never leave you nor forsake you. Fall down before God and let God be God in your life.

I pray today that you will know the holiness of God; that you will allow God to be in control of your life; that you will know God’s presence daily in your life; and that you will follow God with all of your heart.

Psalm 84:10 The Best Place

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:10

There are many places that people would rather be during the days and weeks of their life. People look forward to the weekends when they are at work, so that they can be at home, or out fishing, or relaxing, anywhere but at work. Students in school look forward to the final bell to go home and dream about summer vacation all school year.

The location that people love to be is different for each person, but every person has a place they love or would love to go and see. It is rare to find a person that does not have a favorite place to rather be at than where he is currently at.

Believers should have a different look on locations. The view of every believer should not be at the temporary locations on this earth. It is good to be with family at home, or out on some vacation, or maybe somewhere else, but there is a better place to be than all of those places.

That location is in God’s dwelling place. It is in the presence of God.

There is nothing better than spending time with God. It is something that you can do when you are alone or with a group of people. Jesus had said that where ever two or three are gathered, He would be there. The location is not a physical place, but being in the presence of God. God dwells in the hearts of His people, the believers in Jesus.

To get into His presence, means you must shut out the cares and distractions of this world. Spend time reading and studying His Word. Spend time in pray. Take the time to get to know God, speaking to Him and listening to Him.

In the presence of God there is peace, comfort, love, hope, and joy. When you have all of those things, what more could you ever want?

Are you spending time in God’s presence?

Is being in the presence of God the best location you believe you could ever be?

I pray today that you will know God and His presence in your life; that you will desire to be where God is; that you will not be distracted by this world’s locations; and that you will know the joy and blessing of God’s presence.

Exodus 33:15-16 God’s Presence Required

“Then Moses said to him, If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” Exodus 33:15-16

While Moses was up on the mountain getting instructions from God the people had turned to an idol for worship. God was ready to destroy all of the people. However, Moses stood in the gap and sought God to not destroy the people.

God chose to send the people into Canaan, but said He would not go with them because He may choose to destroy them because of their stubborn hearts. Moses said that he did not want to go anywhere if God’s presence was not with them. He points out that it was His presence that made the difference between them and the rest of the world.

Many people go through life just living life, but not really LIVING life. They strive to do everything on their own. Until something goes wrong, most people do not seek God’s direction and help. They then wonder why things do not seem to go correctly at all.

God needs to be the center of your life. You need to ensure that God is with you in all that you do. Do not run ahead of God, or walk behind God. You must keep God at your side at all times. Ensure that you are walking with God’s presence in your life.

The presence of God in your life is what makes the difference between you and the rest of the world. God will make your life shine in a way that will make it stand out as different. If your life is not different, why should anyone want to follow Jesus? Why would they want to give up anything to follow Him?

Allow God’s presence to be in your life to make a difference in this world. Do not go anywhere or do anything without Him being in it. It will change the world around you.

I pray today that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will seek God in all that you do; that others will know God is with you; and that many will come to Jesus because of your walk with God.
