Jeremiah 31:3 God Loves You

Rose petal

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness;” Jeremiah 31:3

Everyone loves to be loved, but not everyone feels loved. Some people love fairy tale stories that end with everlasting happiness and love, while others hate the stories. They love them because it is something that they dream of, while the others hate it, because they don’t see that type of love in reality.

The love most people see is often very conditional. One loves as long as it is going his own way, otherwise there is hatred or apathy.

Jeremiah reminds the people that in the past and to the present God loved Israel with an everlasting love. God drew the people to Him through His kindness.

God’s love for people has never changed. He still loves with a perfect, never-ending love. His love is not conditional on whether a person believes in Him or not, whether the person sins or does not sin, God loves regardless.

With that perfect love, God shows a kindness that most people do not understand. Sin separates one from God and brings about death. Yet, He is right there willing to forgive sins and make everything right again. God does this because of love.

God’s great love for people causes Him to be kind, rather than hateful. He wants everyone to come to Him and have a relationship with Him. This can only be done with forgiveness. His love makes this possible.

People want to be loved and need to be loved. When a person realizes God’s great love for him, he will be drawn to God. He will no longer want to run away from that great love and go back into death.

There may be times when you don’t feel as if anyone loves you, including God. God may appear to be far away and distant from you, not very loving.

Do not forget that God still does love you. He is being kind to you, not giving you what you deserve, but drawing you to Him to restore you and pour His love into you.

Regardless of what you have done in the past, how much you have sinned, God still loves you. You can return to Him and be changed and used by God.

Whether anyone in this world loves you or not, God does love you with an everlasting and perfect love.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know God’s perfect love; that you will know the kindness God is showing you; that you will have a relationship with God; and that you will stay by God’s side at all times.

Psalm 117:1-2 Praise For Great Love And Faithfulness

Hand in sky

Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. Psalm 117:1-2

Finding true love in this world is difficult. Finding true faithfulness in this world is difficult. Finding one with true love and true faithfulness together is nearly impossible.

The number one problem with finding true love is that the majority of people tend to be selfish. Everything is about self with very little regard to others. They will love others as they are benefiting, but as soon as it seriously costs to love, they stop.

The same problem is found in finding faithfulness. People will remain faithful, until it does not benefit them or they see something better.

In this psalm, the writer tells the people to praise the Lord and lift Him up. The reason is because of His great love and enduring faithfulness.

Perfect love and faithfulness is only found in Jesus and His Father, God. Jesus shows His love by giving up His life on a cross for people who either did not know Him or hated Him. He did not die for those who loved Him. Jesus did not receive any benefit in Himself for dying for people.

Jesus also has enduring faithfulness. He continues to remain faithful to love everyone. This ‘everyone’ includes not only those who follow Him, but also His enemies. He also remains faithful in holding together this universe He has created so that man may live on this earth.

God is always there for those who seek Him. He will always love everyone, no matter what they have done or are doing.

Knowing this gives a person a reason to praise Him and lift Him up. There is no one who deserves greater praise than God.

Look into God’s great love that He has for you as shown in what Jesus has done for you. Realize how faithful Jesus has been to you over the years.

Let God’s love wash over you and overwhelm you as you realize how much of a filthy sinner you were or are and, yet, He still loves you. Notice how Jesus has removed all of your sins and will remain faithful to continue to do so.

Follow hard after Jesus and give Him the praise that is due Him. Let the world know of His great love and faithfulness. Broadcast His praises aloud for all to hear. Praise the Lord!

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you know God’s perfect love for you; that you will know God’s everlasting faithfulness to you; and that you will praise God all the days of your life.

Psalm 36:7 Priceless Love

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7

A price value is placed on most things. Walking in a store there is a price placed on every item in the store. It tells a person how much it will cost to get it. The higher the demand for an item, the higher the price for it will be.

Price is also often determined on how rare or difficult an item is to get. Things that are nearly impossible to get will have a very high price tag on it. One of the things that the world classifies as priceless are some famous paintings or other works of art. They are a one of a kind, placing the value so high, that it is considered priceless.

David found that God’s unfailing love was priceless. There was no price that could be placed upon having His love.

Just as a person, who does not know art, does not understand the priceless value of a piece of art, the world does not understand the priceless value of God’s perfect love.

God, the one who created the universe, loves individual people. He loves the individual person so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for that person to give Him eternal life. Having eternal life is of such high value that it is priceless.

The only way a person can know that eternal life is by the love of God. This makes His life priceless. It is worth getting no matter what the cost. There is nothing of higher value on this earth than God’s great love.

With God’s love, one can rest assured in his salvation, that God is on His side taking care of Him and that God will do what is best for him in every situation.

Take some time to realize how much God really loves you. Think about how much God has already done for you and given you. Now realize how valuable that love is. His love is perfect and never ending and is worth pursuing at all costs.

Knowing that God loves you, show that love back to God and to others. Living your life for God is the ultimate show of love to Him. You cannot love God and others too much, when you love with His perfect, eternal love.

What has a priceless value in your life?

I pray today that you will know God’s great love for you; that you will love as God loves you; that you will know the value of God’s love; and that you will live your entire life dedicated to God.

Psalm 13:5 Trust Unfailing Love

Red Roses

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. Psalm 13:5

Trusting in something is what most people do, however, what they trust in is different for most people. Some people trust in their government, while others will not trust them. Some trust their spouse, while others are not trusted. Many will trust in their jobs and retirement account, while many will not.

The challenge with most of the things that people trust in, is that those things can and will fail. They will fall short of what is expected at some point or another. A job can look real good and provide a good secure income for many years, but then suddenly fold and lose everything. Things and people will fail.

David starts out this psalm thinking that God has abandoned him as he cries out to Him. In this verse, David claims that regardless of God’s silence, he will trust in His unfailing love and rejoice in the salvation He provides.

In every believer’s life there are times when God appears to be silent, especially during a difficult challenge in life. If anything bad can happen, it seems to happen. Crying out to God feels like one is in a locked padded cell and no one can hear the cries.

At this point, this is where faith and trust in God comes in. One has to trust in His perfect unfailing love. There is only one thing in this universe that is truly eternal and that is God, and God is love. So, love is eternal. It will never fail. And God’s love is perfect.

God will never do anything that is not done in love. He will not allow anything in the life of a believer that is not allowed out of love. Knowing this, a believer can trust that God can hear him and will take care of him, no matter what the situation.

Going through your life, there will be times God seems to be silent. Rest in the fact that God is love and loves you with an eternal, undying love. His love for you is perfect. He will never do anything to harm you.

When this world throws ugly situations your way, focus on His perfect love.

When you cry out to God, and He does not appear to listen or hear you, remember He loves you.

Then rejoice in the salvation He is giving or going to give you. God loves you!

I pray today that you will know God’s perfect love; that you will know God’s provision; that you will trust God’s love for you; and that you will see God’s hand at work in your life.
