Acts 28:24 Some Will Believe, Some Will Not

Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe. Acts 28:24

News or stories abound everywhere a person goes all over the world. One can hear them in person, on the radio, on the internet, on television, on the phone, in magazines and more.

Some of those stories are true, while others are not. People struggle as to what to believe, because often there are two different stories with exact opposite sides of what is true. This is often complicated even more when how a person is brought up and taught is brought into the equation.

As Paul was a prisoner in Rome, he would proclaim the gospel message to any one he could, trying to persuade them to believe in Jesus. Some were convinced and believed, while others were not.

The world is always striving to get people to believe certain things. Believers sometimes will fall for those beliefs, if they are not keeping strong in God’s word.

At the same time the world is pushing their beliefs, believers are supposed to be doing the work Jesus commanded–to preach the gospel message to all the world. That gospel message is that Jesus died for their sins, that they can repent and be saved.

Every day, every believer has opportunities to tell someone about Jesus. One should do all he can to persuade others to believe, because their eternal life is at stake. While they are working to persuade others to believe, some will believe, while others will not be convinced in any way.

No believer should ever automatically presume that some person will never believe. Nor should he stop telling people about Jesus, because some reject Jesus. Every person on this earth needs to be given a chance to believe in Jesus or to reject Jesus.

God will always open doors for you to be His witness to those around you. Do not be afraid to spread His gospel message. Strive to persuade others to believe in Jesus.

Do not be discouraged and quit when some will refuse to believe. Move on to the next person and tell that person. The more people you tell about Jesus, the more some will choose to follow Jesus as some will also continue to reject Him.

You will never know how many will choose to believe, until you actually go out and give them the chance to believe.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will tell others about Jesus; that you will not be discouraged when some reject Jesus; that God will open your eyes to the many opportunities to be His witness; and that many will believe in Jesus through your testimony.

Luke 24:25 Are You Being Foolish?

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!” Luke 24:25

Belief in something that someone cannot see is often difficult for many people. There are so many different fake stories out in the media that many people struggle to know what to believe or not.

In the process of wading through what is false, many will throw out things that are true, or they will seriously doubt the truth when it is presented. Many have rejected truth no matter how clear it is shown to them to be truth.

After Jesus had risen from the dead, He talked with some men who were sad about His death. He told them that they were being foolish and slow for not believing what the prophets had spoken.

Every believer has heard some of the promises of God and the prophecies that were made in the bible by the prophets. It is one thing to hear of the promises and prophecies, but it is quite another thing to believe in them.

While many believers have heard and know the prophecies and promises of God, they are often very slow to believe in them. During times of trouble or a bad situation, many start to fear or get depressed because of what is happening. They have chosen to not remember or believe what God had said.

As one looks at all the prophecies in the Old Testament and realize how many have come true, it is not difficult to know that the rest will also come true and the God’s promises will be fulfilled.

To think or choose otherwise is being foolish. It is to call God a liar or to deny Him. Either God’s word is completely true or it is completely false.

Each and every time you are going through a struggle, you have a choice to make. You can either believe God’s word that was spoken or not believe it.

Take time to read through the bible and see all the prophecies and promises made that had come true. Now realize that if those were true then, they are still true today for you.

Do not allow yourself to be depressed when things appear to be failing. Although Jesus died, He also rose again. Although God allows troubles to occur, He will save you in the end. Don’t be foolish in not believing.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will believe God’s complete word; that you will know God will fulfill all of His promises and prophecies; that you will not be foolish in doubting God’s word; and that you will see God’s hand of salvation in your life.

Acts 28:24 Give Them A Chance To Believe

Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe. Acts 28:24

All types of truths and false lies are being spoken all the time, all around the world. As these are being spoken, often one side is chosen and presented in a way that it is the only truth and the only way it can be looked at.

In some places, it can actually be demanded that a person believe it or there will be consequences. There is no choice allowed in whether to believe it or not. The authorities get very upset when some do not believe.

As Paul was held as a prisoner in Rome, he kept preaching and teaching God’s word, trying to convince people about Jesus. Some would believe, while others would not believe.

When Jesus got ready to leave their earth, He gave the final command to be a witness in all the world. Every believer is to go out and tell others about Him and what He had done for them.

One common problem that many believers have is that they often will refuse to talk to some people about Jesus. They feel that those people just will not accept Jesus, because of who they are or what they believe. They are not given the opportunity to believe at all. The choice is made by the believer, not the individual himself.

God is in the business of touching hearts through His word. However, the people need to hear what that word is, and that is only done by believers going out and telling them His word.

When a believer tells everybody and anybody, it gives each one the opportunity to believe or reject. The more people told, the more people who will believe, while more people may also reject, but each can make their own choice.

You have the same commission to be a witness as Paul and all the disciples did. You are to go out and tell everyone you can about Jesus.

Do not allow yourself to ignore or not tell someone because you believe that he may not believe. Tell everyone, trusting that God will touch their hearts and draw them to Him. Allow them to make their own choices.

As you do this, you will see that many will believe, while some will not believe. That is not your choice, but theirs. Give them a chance to believe.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be His witness to all around you; that you will see God draw many to Him; that God will change the hearts of many people; and that God will give you the words to speak.
