Leviticus 13:52 Defiling, Destructive Mold

He must burn the fabric, the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or any leather article that has been spoiled; because the defiling mold is persistent, the article must be burned. Leviticus 13:52

For most things and most types of mold, mold is something that no one wants to have. Mold can get into many different things in different ways. Most often mold is destructive. Once it is in something, that item has to be destroyed.

Some molds, such as the black mold, is not only destructive of what it is on, but also contaminates the air, causing serious sickness. Mold is alive, once it is in or on something it does not stop reproducing and spreading, destroying.

Cleanliness has to be maintained strictly in order to keep mold from infesting some item. Old food must be tossed out, places in a house/building must be cleaned regularly, and spilled water must be dried up. There is an active work to be done to keep mold from occurring and even more work to be done in order to get rid of it.

Mold is just like sin. Once sin gets into a person’s life, it begins to destroy and kill. It will continue to spread throughout the person’s life, until he is dead. It will not only spread in that one person’s life, but will also spread to others, causing death in others.

Also, just like mold, sin takes an active, persistent effort in order to get rid of it and keep it out. The blood of Jesus, which He shed upon the cross, is the only thing strong enough to wipe away the sin in a person’s life.

The passions of sin must be destroyed. The person must become dead to sin, just as the item must be destroyed when contaminated with mold.

You, along with everyone else, has been contaminated with the mold of sin in your life. Seeking the forgiveness of Jesus will get the sin removed. Once that is done, however, there is work to be done to keep the sin from re-infesting your life and soul.

You must take an active effort to keep your eyes on God and keep sin out of your life. Do not allow the ‘little’ sins in life to get a hold of you. Just as mold, it will continue to spread until it has killed you.

How much mold are you allowing in your life?

I pray today that you will know the forgiveness of Jesus; that you will allow Jesus to remove the mold (sin) in your life; that you will turn away from all sin and follow God; and that your life will be productive, holy and pure for God.

Leviticus 14:34-35 God Cares About Your Whole Life

“When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a spreading mold in a house in that land, the owner of the house must go and tell the priest, ‘I have seen something that looks like a defiling mold in my house.'” Leviticus 14:34-35

After God goes over many regulations about defilements of the body, He now looks at physical things. The first thing He looks at is the house. This is also after they enter into Canaan. If a person has a house and sees something that looks like mold, he is to go to the priest to have it examined. After a lot of investigation and testing, if it is destructive mold, the house is to be destroyed.

There are many Christians who believe God is only concerned about the physical and spiritual being of a person. It is often believed that God has no real concerns about the physical things that he may have.

With this regulation that God gives concerning a house, this belief is shown as false. God does care about everything in your life.

There have been parents who have discouraged children about praying for pets. A little child in faith prays that God will heal a sick or injured pet. Some parents think that is ridiculous  or just very simple child characteristic. God, however, looks at it with great joy. It is complete trust in Him for everything.

Anything that is a concern to you, is a concern to God. The difference is how much of a concern. Some things that adults are concerned about is more of worry than concern. You are not to worry about anything, but bring it all to God in prayer.

If God is so concerned about mold in a house that He wrote laws concerning it, don’t you think that God is concerned about care for your clothes, car, house, and the list goes on forever?

Seek God about everything in your life. Allow Him to guide you in what needs to be done or not done. Do  your best to maintain what God has blessed you with.

God only wants what is best for you.

I pray today that you will know God’s care for you; that you will know His great love for you; that you will trust God in every thing you have; and that God will guide you by His Holy Spirit in everything you have and do.
