Psalm 6:6 Crying Out To God

Weeping Willow

I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. Psalm 6:6

Seeking help sometimes takes time and a lot of effort. It is not always an easy path to getting much needed help.

There are people who are in need of government assistance that attempt to get some help. In order to attempt to qualify for the help, one must fill out dozens of pages of information, plus provide proof for all of that information. All this is done so that, maybe, he might get some needed assistance. During the process of filling out all the required paperwork, there is often a lot of groaning and tears, with fear of rejection.

David had been crying out to God about some situation in his life. He had been seeking God all night long for deliverance from his enemies. He had become weak from all the groaning and praying he had been doing. In the end, God hears his prayer and answers him.

The prayers of many people are very short quick prayers. They quickly ask God for something, then move on with life. This is often done, because one is so busy with life that he does not stop and take time to communicate with God more than a short tweet.

Although God does hear each and every short prayer, there are times He wants one to really cry out for help. Jesus was perfect, yet, He spent a lot of time praying to the Father. He spent whole nights in travailing prayer to the Father.

Some think that this is just a lack of faith to pray for a longer period of time for one thing, but this can be a show of determination to get God’s attention. It is reaching out until one gets the needed answer.

There will be times in your life when you are going through a tough time. The spiritual enemies in this world will be attacking you and you need relief. Take time to pray to God for the answer.

Do not just do a fast food take out prayer with God, but spend time in prayer seeking His mercy in your life. Do not be afraid of spending hours seeking His assistance.

It can be that God is wanting to see how much you need Him, how much you want the answer. Be willing to cry out to God and keep crying out to get an answer. He will answer in His time.

I pray today that you will know God’s voice; that you will seek God for help in every area of your life; that you will take time to pray to God; and that you will know God’s mercy in your life.

Ezekiel 21:6-7 Groan Because Of The News

“Therefore groan, son of man! Groan before them with a broken heart and bitter grief. And when they ask you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand go limp; every spirit will become faint and every leg will be wet with urine.’ It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign LORD.” Ezekiel 21:6-7

Ezekiel had been given a message of destruction and the people were not believing it. Now God tells him to groan because of the news he has been given. The people would not understand the groaning because they did not believe the message.

Hearing bad news all the time often deadens the senses. When a city starts to hear of news of major crimes in its city, at the beginning everyone is shocked and get worried with the news. As the major crimes become more common place, most people stop being so shocked. It just becomes a natural part of life. The cares of the crimes have dropped off because of how common they are.

Today there is news of a coming destruction. It is not necessarily the destruction of a specific city or nation, but the destruction of the world. The news is that Jesus will come back for judgment upon the world for all those who chose not to follow Him.

When that judgment comes, all men will tremble in fear. The horror will be greater than anything the world has ever seen. People will want to kill themselves to attempt to avoid the horror of it. At the end of that destruction, every person who does not know Jesus as Savior will be cast into hell for eternity. Then the horror of burning for ever without God begins.

As a believer you know this news. It is coming and there is nothing that can stop it. You should be groaning before the people of this world with a broken heart. A broken heart seeing people dying and getting ready to be destroyed for lack of faith.

Your heart should be patterned after God’s heart, one that breaks at the thought of anyone not being saved. Seek God for every open door to tell others about Jesus and the news of what is going to happen. Seek to save as many from destruction as possible.

I pray today that you will know the news that God has for this world; that your heart will break as God’s does for the lost; that you will tell everyone about Jesus; and that God will draw many to Jesus through you.
