Isaiah 14:24 It Will Happen

Blueprint

The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.” Isaiah 14:24

Plans are made everyday by millions of people all over the world. Some are short term plans, such as just for that day, while others are long term plans looking out over a period of twenty or more years.

Some of those plans actually come into full being, while many end up on the shelf, forgotten or ignored. Complications and circumstances often get in the way of the plans and many give up.

There are some people who are known for making plans, but never fulfilling them. They always quit for some reason or another before fulfilling them. While a few people will usually fulfill their plans and can be trusted to do so nearly every time.

Isaiah had been speaking about God’s plan to bring Babylon down when he quotes God. God promises that what He has planned, He will do it.

The greatest thing that a believer has in God is that He is trustworthy in what He says. One can stand on the promises of God. If God says He is going to do something, He will do it.

Throughout the Bible God has said that there are many things that He will do for those who believe in and follow Jesus. While many believers know these promises, there are also many who do not always believe them. God does not appear to be working fast enough and so they feel God is not going to fulfill His promise.

Standing on God’s word as truth is the greatest thing a believer can do. He can rest assured that God will do as He has promised. Grace and forgiveness will be given. Provision will be made. Salvation will occur. Jesus will return. These are just a few of the plans God has made and He will fulfill them.

You can have the assurance of God’s word to you. God will never fail in what He plans to do in your life or in the lives of others.

Instead of having fear or feeling that God will not do as He has said, trust Him. Lean on His word as fact. God will fulfill His word to you and to this world. It is only a matter of time before it is complete.

I pray today that you will know God’s promises to you; that God will reveal His plans for your life; that you will see God fulfilling His word; and that you will trust God’s word.

Micah 4:11-12 Not Understanding God’s Plan

But now many nations are gathered against you. They say, “Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!” But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. Micah 4:11-12

As the nation of Israel was being overtaken by many other nations under the judgment of God, those nations thought that they had great favor. They felt that they must be better than the nation of Israel and that the God of Israel was giving them His favor. In their eyes, they had won the great prize, the land of Israel.

In all of this, they did not realize the plans God had for them. Yes, God was allowing them to destroy Israel, but it was only for a time. Their time of punishment would come for their own sins. God was using those nations to get Israel’s attention and then provide for an even greater salvation.

God has plans that often are greater and longer reaching than most people can see or think of. Very few people have a plan of desiring to go through a disaster or trouble. They want to avoid it, if at all possible. God, however, uses disaster.

If God had not crushed Israel and allowed other nations to take over, things would have been much different. It was the Roman government, a pagan government, that set up a system to be able to spread news around the world very rapidly and safely. This allowed for Jesus to come and the gospel message that He proclaimed to be proclaimed around the world. God used a secular government to bring together His blessings.

Even in today’s society, there are times that the secular world is making choices that seem to go against God. Believers are often worried and scared of those choices. Yet, those choices may be what God is setting up for a greater victory for believers in the end.

When you see things occurring that go against God, pray about it and seek God’s will in it. Do not take a part of those actions, but trust God to work through those actions.

Seek the victory that He promised in Christ Jesus in the end. God is gathering the world up for His victory in the end. The world will not be on the winning side.

I pray today that God will show you what He is doing; that you will trust God’s choices in this world; that you will not fear those in this world; and that you will be on God’s winning side through it all.

Psalm 106:13 Forgetting And Not Waiting

But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold. Psalm 106:13

The psalmist is talking about the time when the Israelites were taken out of Egypt and were in the desert. They had almost immediately forgotten what God had done to get them out of Egypt and started complaining about the desert. They were unwilling to wait for God to fulfill His plan for them.

When a promise is made to a person, it is usually expected to be fulfilled very quickly. If a person borrows some money from a friend, it is usually expected to be paid back within a few weeks or maybe a month or two, but not having to wait a few years for the payback. With businesses, contracts are usually drawn up and signed to state when the agreement must be fulfilled.

With a friend, one must look back on how that friend has been in the past to know what to expect in the future. If he has always fulfilled his promise, then most likely he will continue to do so in the future, though it may take some time.

God is faithful in keeping His promise to do what He says He will do. However, often people must wait for the promise to be fulfilled.

You know the number of promises God has made for you. Some of those are to all believers, while others are specific to you alone. You may be waiting for some of those to be fulfilled.

As you are waiting, you must think back to all that God has already done for you. Think about all the promises He has already fulfilled in your life.

When you forget what God has already done, you begin to question whether He can do more or whether He will actually do more for you. God has not forgotten you or His promises to you.

Be patient and wait for Him to unfold His plan for you. In the right time God’s plan for you will be fulfilled. His promises will come about at the perfect time.

Do not give up on God. He is faithful to you. Keep waiting and trusting, and in the end it will be worth it.

I pray today that you will know God’s promise to you; that you will remember what God has already done for you; that God will give you strength to wait for Him; and that God will finish His plan for you.
