Numbers 13:31 False Reports

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” Numbers 13:31

On a regular basis people are faced with tasks that seem tremendously huge and unsurmountable. A few people will face these tasks and overcome them, while the majority will back down out of fear and no confidence.

Those that face the tasks and tackle them will often remember past difficult task that they have already overcome. Forgetting past accomplishments will make the task appear to be larger and more impossible.

After exploring the new land, the majority of the Israelite men stated that they could not attack the people because the enemy was stronger.

The Israelite explorers were speaking the truth when they stated that the people of the new land were stronger, but they had forgotten that they had overcome Egypt, the greatest power of the world at that time.

Following God will mean one is moving into a new territory, a new land. The enemy, the world, will fight against the believer, attempting to stop him or destroy him. The world does not want to lose ground.

Natural eyes will see the world and its powers as greater and more powerful than the individual. Many believers back down from taking new ground. They fear what the world may say or do. The world appears to be too big and powerful.

However, the true believer has God’s Holy Spirit resting in him and giving him the favor and strength of God. He will remember what God has already done in the past and will continue to do in the future and will not believe the false reports of the size of the enemy.

God beat the enemy in drawing a person to believe in Him. Now God can beat the enemy through the believer, taking more ground in this world.

You will have tasks set before you that appear larger than you are. Although those tasks are large, God is bigger. Remember what God has already done in your past and in the past lives of others. What God has done before He can do again.

Don’t allow the false reports of how large the enemy is to cloud your mind but fill your thoughts with how large God is. Go in and take on the task with God at your side and see God give you the victory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see difficult tasks through the eyes of God; that you will see how strong and faithful God is; and that God will strengthen you to reject the false reports of the world.

Exodus 23:1 False Reports

“Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.” Exodus 23:1

Watching the news closely through different sources can cause a person to ask what is the truth. Each newscast presents a different report on what had happened in a situation.

One of the things that is currently being talked about is false or fake news. Reports are being spread around that are not telling the truth. Yet, as they are being spread, more and more people believe the reports and keep on spreading the false reports.

In today’s internet and computer age, this is something that is easily done. Words are taken out of context to say what the person really did not say. Pictures are altered to make it look like something happened, that did not happen. False reports.

This also happens in the local areas, including the church. People see a person doing something, and instead of verifying what happened, they spread a rumor about the person that is out of context. False reports will always tear down another person, rather than build him up.

False reports can damage a person for life. It does not show love, but hatred for a person. This can be public damage or inside personal damage. People will fail to trust, when they hear false reports being spread.

God does not want false reports spread. God is all about telling the truth all the time, every time. God wants His love and truth to be spread. Believers should be the first to stop any false report. When something is heard, a person should check the validity of the statement, before passing it on.

The command God gave the Israelites has not changed since the day He gave it. God is a God of truth, not lies or false reports. God will never hand out a false report to anyone.

As a believer, you need to pattern your life after God. Fill yourself with His love and truth for every person, including your enemies.

Jesus went around building others up towards God, not crushing them down under lies, as Satan and this world does. Jesus said that He is the truth. Live your life as Jesus lived His. Speak and live the truth at all times. Be careful to not spread on a false report about any one or any thing. Speak in truth and love.

I pray today that you will know the truth of God; that God will reveal lies brought to you; that God will give you the strength to stand upon the truth; and that you will always speak God’s truth in every situation in life.

Matthew 28:12-13 False Reports

Empty Tomb

When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.'” Matthew 28:12-13

Jesus had died on the cross and was buried in a tomb. A group of soldiers were set around the entrance to the tomb to prevent any disturbance of the body. On the third day, Jesus arose from the dead and left the tomb. In order to cover it up the leaders had the soldiers lie about it, saying that they were sleeping and that the disciples had stolen the body.

There are hundreds of different news media outlets available on the television and online. Most of those news media outlets claim to report an unbiased news report. However, when there is a major event, it is very interesting how each source of news reports something a little different. Some of those news reports are false on purpose. They are trying to push a certain way of thinking or some greater agenda.

Telling a lie to change how things look or appear is nothing new. Hearing lies and believing them has been around since Adam and Eve. The devil and the world does not want people to believe that Jesus is alive and well today.

If Jesus is alive, it will mean that there is some accountability for their actions. People do not want to be accountable, so they make up lies.

Believers need to be well versed in what the Bible says and be in tune to what the Holy Spirit is saying. When the believer is aware of what God is saying, he will not be led astray with the lies the world is saying.

Currently if you tell people that there is only one way to God and you speak out against sin, you are classified as harmful and mean. This is a lie the world wants you to believe. It is actually showing greater love to tell people about Jesus and sin, than to let them die in their sins and be punished for eternity.

The world will continue to tell lies to pull you away from God. Stay in the Bible and filled with His Holy Spirit to guide you. Be aware of the false reports being said and stay in the truth.

I pray today that you will know what the Bible says; that you will hear what God’s Holy Spirit says; that God will reveal the false reports of this world to you; and that you will speak God’s truth in every situation.
