Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28

Hearing things is easy to do. There is a lot of news and information being passed around all the time. Billions of pieces of information are available at the fingertip of people all over the world.

Having all of this information available does not necessarily mean every person knows that information. In reality, each person knows very little of the extreme amount of information that is available.

Some of that information appears to be worthless, while other pieces are invaluable and needed by everyone.

Isaiah asks the question of whether the people know or have heard about God. He points out that God is the Creator and does not every grow weary or tired and that no one can fully understand His understanding.

It is easy to hear something, but not really hear it. The information is heard with the ears, but it never makes it to the heart and soul of a person.

Many people have heard about God, but don’t realize who He really is. The don’t see Him as THE Creator of everything who has unlimited strength.

God does not grow tired or weary of doing what is right. He doesn’t grow tired or weary of reaching out to draw more people to Him. He doesn’t grow tired or weary of building people up in Jesus.

For the believer, this can be the greatest news ever. Many think that God has given up on them or cannot really help. They do not understand God’s thinking and great love.

Knowing who God really is can give one strength and hope that will endure through every trial in life.

Take some time to think about the fact that God is THE Creator of everything. Now take some time to think about how much God loves you and wants you to be His child.

God will never grow tired or weary of working with you, as long as you keep reaching out to Him and listening to Him. Hear what He has to say to you and obey it. You may not understand why God says and does what He says and does, but you know you can trust it. Set it deep in your heart.

Have you not heard? Don’t you know?

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know God’s great love for you; that you will know God’s great power; and that you will know the hope you can have in Jesus.

Psalm 95:6 Bowing Down

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, Psalm 95:6

Bowing down to something or someone is not uncommon around the world. In many places around the world, bowing down is a symbol of respect and honor given to another person. There are also many who bow down to idols to worship them.

It is common to see people bow down and nearly worship other people. Watch how the fans of singers and actors perform when in presence of someone famous. They see someone famous who they love, and idolize that person, thinking he is the best thing on the earth.

While many will bow in worship and adoration of others, there are very few that will bow down in submission. People do not want to have someone over them. They want to be their own boss, in control of their own destiny in life.

The author tells the people to bow down in worship. They are to kneel before God as He is their maker.

This is not only bowing down in worship, but also bowing down in submission. It is allowing God to be the controller of all life. It is giving Him honor for being the ultimate ruler of all things.

As many will bow in worship to God, giving Him honor, there are few who will bow down in submission, giving Him authority. People want to be in control of their own lives. On Sunday they will bow in submission, but on Monday, as they go back to work, they pick that authority back up for themselves.

A believer must realize that God should be the ultimate authority in every area of his life. God is the one who created everything and deserves that position and authority.

The believer’s life must characterize one of worship and submission to God, constantly bowing down before Him.

Take a moment to examine your life. Who or what are you bowing down to? If you are following the ways of this world, it will be things or other people. Bowing down to temporary things will only lead to death.

Bowing down to God will bring life. He knows what is best for your life. Give Him the honor that He is worthy of. Give Him full authority over your whole life.

Let us bow down in worship and submission to God today.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will bow down to worship Him each day; that you will bow down in submission to God’s authority; and that you will trust God with your life.
