Mark 7:37 Miraculous Hearing And Speaking

People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” Mark 7:37

Hearing and speaking is something that every person wants to be able to do on their own. It is very common that when a person begins to have problems with hearing or speaking, people will quickly try to get help to cure the problem.

No one wants to be deprived of being able to hear or speak. It creates many difficulties in every area of life.

A man who could neither hear or speak was brought to Jesus for a healing touch. When Jesus healed the man, the people were amazed that He could make the deaf hear and the mute speak.

Even today people are amazed when a physical miracle occurs allowing a person to physically begin hearing or speaking. While this passage is directly about physical hearing or speaking, there is another dimension of hearing and speaking that God works in people.

This is other miraculous change that occurs is in the hearing and speaking in the spiritual realm. When Jesus touches the life of a person, one will have his spiritual ears and mouth opened. He will begin to see and speak about the things of God that the natural man cannot hear or speak about.

Those who see someone who can begin to speak and hear in the spiritual realm will often be amazed. They will not understand how a person can hear and speak about the things of God in a clear way. His words will be new and different than those of his past or of the world.

All these changes come about because he is made into a new creation in Christ Jesus. He now has open communication with God, the things of God and things in the spiritual realm.

As a believer God has given you His Holy Spirit to open your ears and mouth. God makes it possible for you to hear what He is saying or what the demonic spiritual realm is saying. He also makes it possible for you to boldly speak His life giving words and truth in this dying corrupt world.

When you allow God to work in and through you in miraculous ways, people will stand amazed. They will see the hand of God doing miracles in your life.

Have you allowed God to open your ears and mouth?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that God will open your ears to hear His word; that God will open your mouth to boldly speak His word; and that you will be filled with His Holy Spirit to do miracles in and through you.

Mark 6:6 A Lack Of Faith Or Faith In The Wrong Things

He was amazed at their lack of faith. Mark 6:6

Every person has some faith of some sort in some thing. All faith is, is believing in something that one cannot directly see.

People have faith every day that when they sit down on a chair that it will hold them. They have faith that the other drivers will stay in their own lane. They have faith that their boss will pay them correctly on pay day.

Faith is nothing new to people, but only what their faith is in.

Jesus had went back to His hometown of Bethlehem. While there He could only do a few miracles and healings because the people lacked faith in Him.

Every where one goes there are people who are desiring some type of miracle in their lives. People want to see great and sudden changes in their own health or in some other area of their life. While they hope for something, it is not hope and faith in God.

This problem often occurs inside the church. Many believers lack faith in God for every area of their life. They may have great faith for God to bring about a healing, but do not trust Him with their finances, not giving the full tithe.

God is always wanting to work in the lives of people in great and miraculous ways. Yet many refuse to have full faith in Him alone, but rather trust themselves or in other things or people.

If a believer can have faith that Jesus has forgiven him and will save him, he can have faith that God can do other miracles in his life as needed. Either God is a God of His word or He is not God at all.

God has already given you a measure of faith. Most likely there is an area in your life that you need help or a miracle in. Do not put your trust in yourself, people, things or ways of this world, but have faith in God. He has already promised to meet all of your needs.

There is nothing too big or too small that God cannot do in your life. Do not allow yourself to be like the people of Bethlehem and lack faith in Him. Allow God to do miracles in and through you.

See what God is willing and can do when you have faith in Him.

Today I pray that you will know God’s great power in your life; that you will put all of your faith in God; that you will allow God to work in your life; and that God will be able to do miracles in your life.

Habakkuk 1:5 God Will Surprise You

Amazed baby

“Look at the nations and watch–and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Habakkuk 1:5

Every so often one person will completely amaze those around him or those who know him. He will do something very different, completely out of  normal character for him. Sometimes that action will be of good character, while other times it can be something terrible.

As things like this occurs, people are amazed and often cannot really believe what had happened, even when they see the action themselves.

Habakkuk had just asked God why He tolerates all the violence, why God is not answering his prayers. God’s answer was that He was about to do something so great that it would amaze him. The answer was that God was going to use the heathen enemy to answer their prayers.

To this day millions of people are asking God the same question about violence. They are also asking God many other questions about many other issues in life.

Often when people pray, asking God for some answer, they are expecting God to answer in a certain way. God, being God, is able to answer in thousands of different ways than one may expect. He always answers with the perfect answer in consideration of every one involved and in light of eternity.

The best thing a believer can do is to trust God to answer in His time and His way. God’s ways of thinking and acting are always above those of any person. It is common for God to use the enemy, even the worst of enemies, and his actions for His purpose, for the good of those who love and serve Him.

There will be times when you have questions or requests of God. When you do, you must trust God’s way to answer you. Know and understand that God is for you and not against you. God only wants what is best for you. He wants what will draw you closer to Him and make you more like Jesus in holiness and righteousness. God will do anything to make that happen.

As you sit back and watch God work in your life and in the lives of those around you, you will be amazed. God will do things in different ways, but with much better results. Allow God to do what He does best.

I pray today that you will trust God with your life; that you will seek God’s way of doing things; that God will open your eyes to what He is doing; and that you will trust God with how He answers your prayers.

Acts 3:12 Why Are You Surprised?

Praising Jesus.jpg

When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?” Acts 3:12

There was a lame man who was sitting down begging for money from people passing by. He had asked Peter and John for some money. Peter told him that he had none, then told the man to get up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ. As the man did so, the people around were amazed at what had happened. Peter asked them why they were amazed, because they should have expected this to happen.

When things happen that are good and are unexplainable, people are amazed. They look at what had occurred and wonder how it happened. They are excited about it happening, even though they do not understand how it happened. They believe it was luck or coincidence, not God.

People who do not believe in Jesus have a good reason to be amazed and not fully understand it. The world does not believe Jesus is alive and so they cannot believe that He can do miracles. Most really do not believe in the supernatural, so when something supernatural happens, they are amazed and want to know how it happened. They believe that an individual has those super powers.

In the church, believers should be different, however, very often they are not. God does a miracle in their life and they stand amazed and shocked at what had happened. The miracle can be a healing, a provision, safety, or some other amazing thing to happen.

Although most believers believe that God can do miracles in their lives, many do not expect it. Once God does do a miracle, they are amazed.

God is the same God as He was in Peter’s time and will be the same through the rest of eternity. If He can and did do miracles nearly 2,000 years ago, He can do them still today.

When you are praying for a miracle in your life, believe that God can and will do it. When you see a miracle occur in your life, believe that it was from God.

God is still in the business of doing miracles in the lives of people. Do not stand amazed, but give God praise when you see a miracle being done.

I pray today that you will know the power of God; that you will see God’s miracles in your life; that you will give God praise for all miracles done; and that you will be a witness of God’s miracles to others.
