Pray for Russia
Russia is a nation that has a long history of many changes. Various groups have controlled the nation and changed how things worked. Many people have fled the nation to get away from the oppression that occurs under the leadership.
With the fall of the iron curtain, Christianity has been allowed into the nation. Christianity has more than doubled in size since the fall. Evangelical groups have more than tripled in size since that time, though that growth rate is slowing down. Discipleship is not occurring and people are being swayed by false beliefs.
The majority of evangelism, however, occurs only among two major cities. Due to its immense size, many of the rural towns do not have much evangelism occurring. Nearly 90% of the communities do not have a church available for people to attend.
Although the church is growing in some areas, there is a lack of leadership to lead and disciple the new believers.
Points to pray:
Leaders in the church
Discipleship of new believers
Church plants
Evangelism across the nation
Unity among the churches
