Pray For Mexico

Mexico has two major problems that run together, drugs and gangs. Major drug lords rule the gangs and bring about extreme violence, usually against each other, but also against innocent people and police. Drugs are a major part of the nation that is fueled by the appetite for them in America and Europe. Part of the violence includes trafficking, kidnapping and extortion.

Nearly 60% of the people are living in poverty throughout the nation. The government has turned to the church seeking help in solving this dilemma.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people attempt to cross the border into the United States to seek better jobs. Many die in the attempt, and others are deported to prisons, both of which result in more difficulties.

Across all of the major cities, there are thousands of homeless people, and many are children. Many of these children are forced into forced labor or sex trafficking. Other children do not go to school so that they can work to help pay for household expenses.

Church organizations are working to reach these children and the young adults in colleges throughout the nation. Although Mexico City has the highest percent of protestants, many are influenced by secular thought and don’t really attend church or be active in ministry. They mix their beliefs with secular beliefs.

Points to pray:
Breakdown of the gang’s influence
Stopping of drug addictions
Revival among believers
Provision for families
Godly leadership in the government
