Pray for Eritrea
Eritrea is a nation that has had to face extreme drought for many years that has caused extreme poverty and food shortage. The government also mandates everyone to take a part of their military, causing a shortage of workers to help build the economy of the nation. Many people flee the country to find work in other nations to avoid time in the military. The government does very little to help the people.
The church faces extreme persecution. This includes the church recognized by the government and those that are unrecognized. Many church leaders are often imprisoned for their belief and work. The majority of churches are orthodox. Very few are evangelical and focused on spreading the gospel message.
Leaders who are put in prison for their belief often go through extreme harsh treatment. Many are crippled while in prison or even die before being released. Although the church is under persecution, there are many new believers coming to the Lord. Often, they are ones who are fleeing the nation to look for freedom and work.
Points to pray:
Protection and strength for church leaders
Boldness to be a witness for all believers
Drought to be removed
Believers to be placed in government positions
Leadership that will take care of the people
