Pray for the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a nation that struggles with internal wars and extreme violence. There is no solid centralized government that controls all of the areas of the nation. Along with no centralized government, there is no centralized language to unify the people together.
Although the majority of the people claim Christianity, there is an extremely high rate of rape and violence against women. It is believed to be the worst nation in the world against women.
One of the unifying factors in the nation is the Christian church. Evangelism is a very large part of the church, although strict guidelines prevent many from crossing physical boundaries into new areas. Training of new leaders to be willing to evangelize outside their immediate area needs to occur.
At one point, there were many biblical colleges available, but due to the violence, many were closed. Provision for materials to train has been difficult to come by, along with the difficulty of no central language that is spoken.
Points to pray:
Training of new leadership in the church and government
Protection of women
Open doors for evangelism
Provision of materials to train new leadership in the church
Unity throughout the nation
