Austria is a land-locked nation that is known for its beautiful scenery, culture, music and art. While the majority claim Christianity, very few know Jesus personally. Their belief is in form only.
Attendance of church has dropped significantly over their years due to sex scandals in the church and the church tax. People try to find God in other places. There are some ministers who are able to plant new churches, but are struggling to find people to lead them. Training new leaders is difficult.
Over the years many immigrants have come into the country. This opens doors for people to be led to Christ, though very few churches have an evangelistic outreach heart. People hold their beliefs to themselves and don’t always share them with others.
