Pray for the Pacific
The Pacific is made of up thousands of island nations throughout the Pacific Ocean near the far east side of Asia. Many people of the younger generation feel betrayed by the older generations and that they no longer have a purpose in life. Finding opportunities for education or employment is difficult and leads to a lot of frustration.
There is an unrest that is occurring among some of the islands against the influence of the west. In some areas this has resulted in violence among the people. Often this has also occurred because of what other nations have done to their islands or communities.
Reaching the lost on all of these islands is difficult. There is a high cost at getting to the various islands, along with reaching the people once on the island, along with the many different languages and dialects being spoken.
While there are some negative things occurring, some islands are growing in Christianity and spreading the gospel message. Fiji and Papua New Guinea are two island nations that are sending missionaries out around the world.
