Job 17:11-12 Light Of Hope

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart. They change the night into day; ‘the light is near,’ they say, in hte face of darkness. Job 17:11-12

As night sets in, darkness fills the sky. Once it is fully night, there is very little light to see by. While it is dark, all hope appears to disappear and fade away. Yet, when dawn begins to show, light also begins to show. It starts out with just a little and then grows until it is full day again.

In the same way, there are storms that pass through an area, blocking out all light. It appears as the end of all hope and only danger is present. However, after a time, a small light begins to appear. That light is showing that there is an end to that storm, it is coming.

Job had looked back on his days and felt that all of his plans had been destroyed and that there was no real hope. Yet, he had a desire in his heart for better days. Holding onto that desire, kept him moving forward and in the dark, he began to see a light. There was a hope of a better future ahead.

Believers will have days and times in life where all they see is a storm of troubles. Everything around them is dark and appears to be hopeless and that all is lost. Instead of looking outward, they must look into the heart and see the desires of their heart. That desire is to be with God through the saving grace of Jesus. It is the hope that one day He will return. It is the hope that one day all the troubles will end.

This gives a light in the middle of a storm in life. This is a hope that is there despite the shattered plans.

As you are going through struggles in life, hold onto that hope you have within you. See the light at the end of the tunnel. There will come a day when Jesus will return to take you with Him for eternity. There will come a day when God will turn the troubles around and fill your days His favor in full light.

Do not give up or lose hope in Christ Jesus during a storm. Know that it will come to an end at the right time. God is with you and will not leave you. Hold onto that light.

I pray today that you will know the presence of God; that you will have the desire to be with God; that you will see the light of God in the dark places; and that you will hold onto God during a storm.
