Pray For Thailand

Thailand has a name that means “Land of the free.” They see themselves as free from Western mindset and culture. Yet, while being free, they are in extreme bondage to Buddhism. The majority of people remain captive to spirit worship and occult practices.

One of the strongholds in Thailand is the sex trade. Foreigners come in to purchase girls for the trade. Parents are willing to sell their children into the sex trade industry for the money. The government does very little to stop the actions from occurring.

When missionaries have brought the gospel message to the land, many people often reject it because it looks ‘Western.’ It often holds to western mindset way of doing things. Those who bring the gospel message to Thailand must find new ways to show it and how to run services that will present the gospel without appearing to be western. It needs to be relevant to the people.

Church growth has been slow due to a lack of strong leadership. Churches rise and fall very quickly without the needed leadership. While students quickly respond to the gospel message, many will quickly fall away due to not being discipled and the pressure of local beliefs.

Points to pray:
Open doors to evangelism
Leadership in the churches
Discipleship of new believers
Breaking of the sex trade and Buddhism bondages
The Gospel message to be made relevant to the people
