The Street Of Three Holes (book review)
In the second book of a series, Bryan Webb continues the story of two missionary children, Caleb and Anna traveling on mission’s trips. Their first trip was to Vanuatu. This time they travel to Taiwan.
With very little previous experience, Caleb and Anna learn that missions work looks different in different places around the world. On their first trip, it was in small little villages, whereas this one is in the major city of Taipei. They begin to learn that there are people in the world who have never even heard of the name of Jesus with a group of people called the Hakka.
By the end of the story, they learn a little of the history of the Hakka people and begin to have a love to reach the lost. They also learn how there are different ways in which a missionary must work to reach the people.
This is a story written by a long-time missionary for children to read and get a vision of missions work. I recommend reading the first book, Mrs. MacKenzie’s Candle, before reading this one to understand some of the things the children are going through. Several times there are references to events that occurred in the first book. This book will also give you a heart for missions.
