Burkina Faso is a landlocked nation that is filled with a lot of turmoil. Islamic groups have taken over many areas and caused the death of thousands of people and the displacement of several million. Islam is spreading rapidly throughout the nation. Fighting occurs on a regular basis.
The resources are very scarce, so poverty runs very high. As a result, many grow up uneducated and unable to read. Learning to work various trades is difficult and keeps the people down. The literacy rate is extremely low, preventing many from learning.
Christianity has risen inside the nation. Several bible schools have been built. Around 150 missionaries are working to spread the gospel message and train the people to be leaders in the newly built churches. These missionaries face extreme persecution and poverty.
