Armenia has a very long history of Christianity within its nation. It is believed to be the first Christian nation in the world. Throughout the centuries believers in Armenia have survived through a lot of persecution against them.
Although Armenia has a long history of Christianity, nearly 1,700 years, there is a great divide between believers from the East to the West, orthodox and non-orthodox. There is a great difference in what is believed and how to run churches. Hostility towards each other runs very high. There is a great distrust in believers who are not a part of the main orthodox church. As a result, there is very little evangelism done to spread the gospel message.
Believing Armenians living outside of Armenia are doing an excellent job at evangelizing others.
Points to pray:
Unity among believers
Vision to evangelize
Boldness of leaders in the church
Recognition of their Christian heritage
Provision for the materials to spread the Gospel message
