Exodus 19:8 Be Willing To Do As Told

Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” Exodus 19:8

Orders are being given all the time to people. They can be found everywhere one goes, the workplace, the store, down the road and in one’s house. They are what gives guidance as to how things are done in a right and orderly manner to avoid having chaos and danger. The more people are willing to follow and obey those orders, the smoother things will go with less complications and difficulties. It is up to each individual to agree to the orders.

Moses had told the Israelites all the things God had to commanded them to do. All the people agreed together to do what He had said to do.

Hearing orders and commands is easy to do. Doing them is a different story. Many people hear and understand the orders given to them, but choose to not follow through on obeying them. The commands are ignored, or it determined that the orders were not for them.

Making the choice to refuse to obey a command can bring about punishment or disaster. Leaders give orders to ensure that the job is done correctly and safely. Orders are rarely given out just to be harsh and in dictatorship.

If the world can give orders that help, God does so even more. God gives commands and orders that are best for each and every person in each and every circumstance. Every command God gives is given out of perfect love, perfect wisdom and perfect knowledge.

Believers have to be willing to trust God’s commands and do them. Part of being a believer is being willing to live for God, which is doing what He commands, trusting His orders.

There are many orders all around you that you must be willing to obey, whether you are at work, at home or somewhere else. You follow most of the rules all the time with no questions about them. God has given you a set of orders to live by through His word and His Holy Spirit leading you. Knowing this, you have a choice to make as to whether you will do all that God has spoken to you. Do not reject His word or commands, but be willing to obey all that He commands so that it will go well with you. Trust that He has good reason for each command.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear what God has spoken through His word and Holy Spirit; that you will obey all that God orders; and that God will work in and through you in mighty ways.
