I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant; for I crossed over this Jordan with my staff, and now have become two companies. Genesis 32:10
Hard work and dedication is often seen as what makes a person great. That is what enlarges businesses and organizations. Although that is a part of what grows a person, there are often other things behind the scenes that brings about the growth. Those things are often unrecognized or ignored and placed in the category of just chance and luck.
As Jacob was returning to his land, he told God that he knew he was not worthy of all the mercies God had already given him. He looked back and remembered that he crossed the Jordan alone and came back as two large groups.
God often works behind the scenes to make things happen. He is there to give grace and favor to people who believe in Him and are willing to follow Him.
As people work and do what God tells them to do, He steps in and gives favor that moves the person faster than self can ever do. He opens doors and moves a person up in ways that can build His kingdom faster than ever before.
The world, being spiritually blind, do not see how God works. All they can see is what their own hands have done. Pride sets in and it becomes all about self.
Believers must remove self and pride and recognize what God is doing and has done. Without His grace and mercy no one would be where they are today. This occurs whether a person has a little or a lot, done a little or done a lot. It is God working in the life of the believer that accomplishes anything.
God is working behind the scenes of your life. He is showing you great mercy in not destroying you for your sins and blessing you with what you life you have. Do not think like the world and believe that it was you alone that accomplished all that you have done. It is God giving you the strength and favor to get where you are today, and it is God who will bring you forward in the days to come. Recognize what God has done and is doing in your life.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see what God is doing in your life; that you will give God the credit for the blessings in your life; and that you will continue to obey God’s word for your life.
