Genesis 9:11 God’s Keeps His Covenant Promise

Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth. Genesis 9:11

Covenants and promises are made all the time by people, businesses and nations. As much as covenants are made, they are also broken by the same groups. Trust for others to keep their word is often low. Contracts are written up in extreme detail to protect everyone for every possible loophole because people will often find a way to break them.

After the flood God made a covenant with Noah and all the earth that He would never destroy all life on the earth by a flood again.

Trusting other people is very difficult for many because they have been let down so many times. Promises, covenants, treaties have been broken, or loopholes have been found to not keep them too many times for people to have faith that it won’t happen again.

All of this loss of faith and trust has been transferred to God. As much as believers will say that they trust God, many do not really fully trust Him. Many hold back a part of their trust fearing that God will not really come through for them with all of His promises. They hold back their giving, their service, their stepping out in faith and their obedience out of fear.

When one really looks at God’s promises made and how He has kept His promises, one knows that God can be fully trusted. Since the nearly five to six thousand years ago when God flooded the earth with Noah, He has never flooded the entire earth. He kept that promise and will keep every one He has made since then. God can be trusted.

You have been let down by people who have broken their promises. It causes you to not trust them and may even cause you to begin to doubt God’s promises. Although people have broken their covenants with you, God will never break His with you. He will keep His promises as you step out in faith to obey Him and trust Him in every area of your life. Take a look up in the sky after a rainstorm and see the rainbow and know that God will keep His promise to you as He has kept that one.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the promises of God; that you will trust God’s covenant with you; that you will know God will keep His promises; and that you will step out in faith in doing God’s will for your life.
